I agree that it needed serious help. No one in their right mind would take it up to now. That being said, it it's current form, you have to spend 4 feats for a +3 ranged bonus along with the negation of the -4 to hit penalty. I still think that is a steep cost considering 2 of the four do nothing for a ranged character. Mobility and dodge are less useful feats for a ranged character. Comparatively, a fighter can select four feats from the weapon specialization and/or focus line and get a total of +8 for the same 4 feats vs 3 for a ranger. Plus, the 4 from the fighter line grant the original damage that there is to begin with.

I like the idea of adding ranged power to only the SoTR portion of that feat chain, but it needs to be more to be something folks are going to select. I cannot see blowing that many feats for a mere 3 ranged power.

I guess I'm not in the right mind....

It was a nice idea, but it would be nicer if they dropped the pre-reqs or made the pre-reqs PBS and PS like other ranged feats.

I recently respec'd my archer to take advantage of all the RP in harper, since the pass. I'm sitting around 120 RP blitzing, which is pretty comfy. There's no way I'd drop a feat to fit in 3 more RP, let alone 3.

Not sure why you would take it before this update. It only gave +4 to hit which, for four feats, is the worst chain of feats that there was in the game. Even spring attack and combat casting (equally useless) had lower feat requirements.. It used to remove a slowness penalty and was standard for you to take it, but that was when the level cap was 10 and you had to be 9 ranger 1 fighter to get and you only had 4 slots for enhancements. We have come a long way since then. The to hit penalty is only -4 so taking SoTR was waste of 4 feats.... still may be.

Hmmm, I took Shot On The Run prior to the recent change.

Dodge: +3% Dodge <- I don't wear armor on my Ranged Character so getting to 30% dodge this helps avoid damage especially ranged damage
Mobility: +2% Dodge <- see above

This is +5% dodge

So I am one that used/uses these feats on my Ranged Character.

I like Blitz with ranged, but I decided to go double shot on my current build. 54% standing DS . Using the boost from Divine Crusader and killer from Deepwood, I can go pretty far over 100%.

It will be interesting to see if they add ranged power into the enhancement lines too... which they should have done already. Why the harper tree has it and yet the ranger trees do not is yet another DDO head scratcher.

I have it. I like the idea of not losing to-hit when I kite stuff. Now I freely move all around the room while I shoot at stuff.

As it is, it seems I have almost more feat slots than I can use. My build is a monk/rgr/rog, and between all the granted feats, I have tons. I even had to swap out manyshot because I realized I got it for free from one of my ranger levels. I took SotR instead.

yeh they should have because you play ranged and you want it now! There are lots of different things people want to see now for their build but some classes are just gonna have to wait their turn. Cordovan mentioned on live stream that deepwood stalker is being looked at so maybe U26 will be adding ranged power to ranger trees

Pump the breaks chief.... they should have because they mentioned adding it way back when update 23 went live but they choose to keep delaying it. But thanks for you concern with what I play and what I want and when I want it. FYI, I have 1 ranged toon and spend way more time on my melee toons simply because they are more fun. Maybe if they addressed the real issues with ranged combat I would play more ranger.
