Just curious. I ask because I like to read the OP, then I start from the last post to the first, especially big threads with many pages. Does anyone else do that?

Small threads, reading the OP and then the rest of it in order.
Medium threads, reading the OP and then the most recent posts in order.
Large threads, reading the OP and then replying without reading the rest.

If I find an interesting reply to an interesting quote, I'll go backwards jumping from quote to quote till I find the initial post that started the discussion.

If I have already read some of the replies in the thread, I'll go to first unread. If there are not many unread, I will read them all. If there are many unread and also big posts, I will skip most of them unless something catches my eye.

Picking topics from "New Posts" and often from Dev Tracker.

Like this--I hit 'new posts' and ignore rants and bait/troll threads. I also ignore ambiguously titled threads--it's not asking much to have an indicative title.
Really long threads--I tend to avoid them unless I feel willing to read all the posts.

Often I am on an iphone so I can't respond easily to some threads (e.g. it is a PITA to post a link on an iphone).

I generally read three random words in the title and reply without reading anything else, replying to what I think the OP meant. Saves a lot of time, and noone notices.

I read threads from the top, then proceed downwards. I read posts from left to right, top to bottom.

I do this all the time. The reason I do it is to do a quick check to see if the thread is worth reading. For instance, if the last several posts are just completely off topic, I won't read it. But if there's a lot of mud slinging going on, then I read it so I can start my day with some entertainment :p

If it's under 3 pages, I read OP then rest - recent first. Over 3 pages, and I read first page, then reply and leave.

Well the 1st thing is do determine how thick the thread is.:o

Then I would see what king of fabric it has.

Of course the important factor is; How Long is it? Just a short remnant of something else, or; is so long that it takes up the entire spool (or bobbin, depending on where you are geographically).

And don't forget the winding. This determines the parameters of #1:p

Next, figure out what is is being used for. Simple knit-picking or an entire tapestry.

Lastly, no matter what, you have to start at one end. And much like the names,... Otto, Mom, Pop, Sis, Dad etc... they can be viewed from either end and still produce the same thing.

I hope this helps clarify something as simple as a "thread"
