Inexplicable Draining of Spell points

Last week some guildies and I ran EE VON3. During the fight with the 3 named bosses, I died. I used Jack Jibbers Blade to raise me (even though I was near a shrine - I had just pulled it earlier that evening and wanted to take this opportunity to test it).

After I died from jack Jibbers timing out, I used the rez shrine and the shrined to get ready for the end fight. After shrining, I grabbed the chest in the next cave and ran to the chest just before the door to the end fight. At that time I noticed that my spell points were only half full. I thought I had stood up before finishing shrining, but then realized that spell points were ticking off at a rate of about 20-25 spell points a second.

I opened up my examination window and saw no kind of De-buffs to account for this.

I'm not sure if it was the result of using Jack Jibber's blade, but that was the only thing that I did out of the ordinary.

As a test of that item, I went into GH and let the giants kill me, then used the blade and it didn't have any effect on my spell points, so it was probably something else.

Does anyone know what may have caused that inexplicable draining of my spell points?

The only thing I can think of that drains sp per second like that is the useless healing aura from exalted angel.

I experienced the same thing while in Exalted Angel and using Jibbers. IIRC you need to toggle Ascendance off and on to stop the drain. It is acting like you have Astral vibrance on.
