Barbarian Rage question/issues

I don't play my Barb toons that often but when I do I am always shocked to find out I can never use pots (poison, disease, fear) etc. My Barbs are over 2 years old (if not longer) and I don't recall these problems back in the day, but don't quote me on it. Was it always like this for Barbs?

I now discover they can't even use Cocoon while raged which is a real bummer and makes that tree less useful. I'm seriously starting to question (well for a split second at least) the value of my barbarian rages these days in the context of the game.

Will it seriously break the game if they could at least use ALL pots (even if meant breaking them over their heads). Being cursed/diseased/poisoned/feared every 5 seconds in high end content warrants these countermeasures.

you cant cast spells while raged, which is what Cocoon is.

As Q noted, Guild pots are usable while raged. As for the healing, they put a few options in the trees but I honestly don't use them as I've got a variety of those healing elixir things stored up from dice rolls & iconic lives - and those can also be used while raged.
