Warlocks is the answer to no DA. notice the respawns from the skulls didn't even give a green DA.

That game showed many (including myself) AGGRO MANAGEMENT as a necessary tactic. Sun Tzu would have said - control the field of battle and win the battle.

Although, I didn't even question the fact that such a video would exist before I went to youtube - that's the crazy thing.

There are a few reasons. It exists because the only videos of Gauntlet I was able to find of people playing solo used the Elf.. and Elf was probably my least favorite back when I was a youngin. I'm no pro at the game though, so reaching a million plus points is out of the question.
The video description provides another for that video in particular. ...Because, yea, I was able to get recording software that cooperated.. so on my channel is another run with the wizard.. but it's over an hour long, so it's no surprise to me that this shorter video is the more popular. :)


But really... if you're going to ask that of this video, perhaps you should also ask it of at least 90% of the others as well.

Man I really feel sorry for someone who doesn't get why anyone would want to watch a video of gameplay nostalgic or otherwise. The "lets play" phenomenon and huge success of guys like "Pew Dee Pie" (google it) is largely an offshoot of whatever it is that made us crowd around an arcade machine and watch someone else play. Games are intrinsically entertaining... in ways that movies can never dream of.

<--- Spent many a quarterless afternoon watching someone else flip Asteroids, or Defender, or Galaxian, or complete Dragons Lair, or Time Pilot, Double dragon, Tempest... many others fondly remembered as a core gamer I almost feel sorry for modern youths but then... they are watching "let's plays" instead of peering over someones shoulder at the arcade, same basic thing.
