View Full Version : What PL for a pure Arty?

Ok so I am still working on my PL's for my Arty. I know they aren't EE viable right now in a lot of situations so I am building this guy for when they do an Arty pass. Yes I know this might be in vain lol.

Currently I have:
3 Ranger
3 Sorc
3 Arty

I am wondering if anything else will be a good boost. I know Monk could add +3 after 3 lives so I am thinking of getting some monk gear for 3 PL of that. What about FvS? 60 SP is meh but what about +3 spell pen? And if so Wizard for +6 spell pen? I don't think I use any spells that need spell pen. Tac Nuke doesn't need it right? So I was thinking neither of those classes would help much. Rogue maybe for sneak attack but I solo a lot so that's not huge. Any ideas? Or am I pretty well set as is?

My goal is to be a Xbow repeater build with spells as a supplement. I don't want to be a nuker first. I want to focus on my Xbow and my Runearm as my primary DPS. I also plan on being a WF/BF so I will do 3 lives of BF also for +30 to repair and a little fort.

Anything you all might suggest?

A single Wiz PL for the +1 to all DCs might be something but can you spare the feat? Probably not.

You don't really need Spell Pen or Conj DC so WIz, FVS and Cleric not so useful.

3x rogue for +6 Trap Saves might be good.

If you use Tactics, Fighter o/c assuming they fix the bug where toddlers can Stun huge Giants at will.

Druid for a boost to your Doggie if you like such things maybe.

Pally and Barb are useful to everyone but not worth the grind anymore.

Mostly I'd rather get to 28 and do 3X Martial Sphere for +3 to all skills before additional Heroic PLs with the exception of Rogue, which is great for Trappers.

Nah no tactics with bow, and three lives for dog is silly, and 3 lives for traps that you will probably save on anyway is extravagant.

Sounds like you put most of the work in already on heroics so gratz and gl.

I just figured I could get all my PL out of the way before the arty pass *crosses fingers* happens. I might do Druid anyway in the offchance they do some sort of pet tree that does end up viable.

3x Ranger,Monk,Fighter to max +9 Damage +3 to hit on bolts is very nice

3x Druid dog is still useless

3x Paladin is handy for the Hamp

Meh everything else is mostly fluff is you ask me but, then I don't run a caster Arti so DC & Spell pen are useless, UMD is high enough, saves don't get high enough to matter so +to saves doesn't really help.
