Running von on lowbies with my 5 year old on elite. Von1 was laggy but we were able to complete no deaths so we move on to von2 we get everything cleared and just have the last item past the maze to unlock endfight son dies to a lag spike no biggie I pick up his stone and finish of the giant boss.
Grab the silver key make the mephits spawns and try to bring them out of the room to have room to move around while I kill them and voila I fall through the dang quest floor to ddo own little private hellish wasteland...
Will link a video once it's done uploading.
Somehow I think there more problems then lag going on lol.

Yep, i have several screenshots of falling thru floors, entire towns not showing but darkened walls of the buildings, missing levers, missing shrines, missing raid bosses (Velah)...
You should be happy with *just lag*, some instances dont even load quest critical objects, like .. the above mentioned raid boss..

I was in a party where something similar happened in Von2. I forget the circumstances. Seems like maybe they had been pushed off the edge by a beholder, and then killed by said beholder. At any rate, their stone ended up on the floor there. And they were able to wander around as a ghost. We obviously couldn't raise them because we couldn't get to their stone.

Not talking about difficulty
Imagine the parents mentality that can simply say "what the fu**" right in front of 5 years old. I also don't see how that is fun. They fell into the abyss and stuck there for a long time. Doing nothing but running around. Turbine needs to fix this, I don't want this happen to me or someone else.
Ps: I'm not surprised about gamers sharing their addiction with miners. I seen it before and I know it will continue and escalate.
Ddo doesnt have much violence as most games to be honest.
Ive seen parents who buy games like call of duty n such for their 6 year old kids.
Ddo is pretty softcore for most of the time imo.
I feel more scared and worried for kids who grew up with teletubies then with dnd.
The tele generation creates pure evil people.
evil i tell you

Yeah I dunno what angelics problem is but my son has been watching me play ddo since he was 3 and has been playing since he was about 4 years old. He knows it is all pretend, doesn't have nightmares about it and likes to use a scimitar cause it looks like a "pirate weapon".
It is not any worse than TMNT or lego ninjago or the various other comics kids can watch in the morning plus it is something we do together so I am right there to keep an eye on him to make sure it is something he can handle.
Like you say at least he's not watching teletubies which IMHO is designed to make your kids brain turn into goo. He also likes to watch doctor who and pirates of the caribbean though with Doctor who we kind to have to gauge episode by episode as some of them can be kind of scary for a young child.
As for my wt f comment I dunno about angelic but when I type something in chat I know he cant read it and I do not talk to myself as I type it.... lol
As for the time it took for me to start moving around well first I had my wife come see what happened as I thought it was funny then opened after burner which I haven't used in ages and took a short video for giggles, my son logged off in disgust and started watching ben 10.
My mentality is just fine tyvm as for my addiction it had been at least 1 month since I logged in to ddo, how about you angelic?

Wow Silk.
I think it is great that your 5 yr old can play. I am impressed.
My 8yr old is learning to play and loving it.
The learning curve can be steep - the game can be very complex, but it is an interesting process to simplify it down so kids can play it.
I've had to be selective with chat windows and avoid pugs due to language issues.
Glad you are enjoying playing together.
Happy hunting!

That video suppose to be funny?... Anyways. I hope you can forgive me for being rude, but I studied kids phycology for 4 years and I know what I'm talking about. It's not always the game what troubles most people, but the people who play "what" game. Maybe you are really watching and careful, but why DDO and Doctor who. That's the real question. I can't even begin to describe as there are huge list of things I would love to share with you. Such as, it's not about nightmares/fear, but the temptation etc. But let's leave it at that. I don't want to argue with you or make enemies here. If you think it's ok, then alright... Not like something could be achieved here. To answer on your last question. I'm currently visiting Japan (I'm working for squire enix) and talking a big break from DDO till next 2 month. We have new upcoming game title that will be launching in 2016 for xbox one, ps4 and pc. Wish I could play tho...

Aye I am sure he does just wait til he starts telling you before hand in quest stop be careful there's a trap here and there and there etc lol. You will be surprised how fast they learn especially if you play with them..
..and yea pugging can be problematic as many people have potty mouths if you pug..I tend to have my head phones nearby so on rare occasion I do pug I mute my speakers if peeps are voice chatting.

Falling through the game world was funny..never said I was making a funny video....and he doesn't pug and the like, your fears are unfounded, the only people he parties with is myself, my wife and sometimes a couple guildes who KNOW he is 5 years old that say hi via voice chat ..... really I am less worried about this than the random garbage he can pick up from other kids at school. My wife has been a school teacher for over 10 years and deals with a mixed younger class and has training for dealing with younger troubled kids coming from troubled homes so You can understand that I will take her real life hands on experience any day over your 4 years studies on kid psychology.

Fascinating. The place even has its own map. Now if Turb would populate the place with mobs and bosses it might even become a 'feature'.

It's DDO's version of the Cow Level but without cows since that may be copywrighted. so it's a level of nothing. lol.
