You have to be more specific. Sadly there is no way to fix all lag, as there are too many uncontrollable factors.
there is
1)server lag (bad cores, bad server programing, other stuff)
2)ISP lag (This includes turbine side lag, intercontinental lag,and your ISP lag)
3)Your system lag (your router, PC problems, ram, videocard, drivers, HDD and so on)
4)Software lag (Your bacground torrent client, program conflicts, stuff)
5)Your client side game lag(Memory leaks, directX problems,Awesiumprocess and stuff)
.....
I probably skipped some stuff too.
Any of these can be the problem, or even multiple of these can combine into massive lag. Even the slightest problems add up when playing.
That said I wish they fixed the memory leaks. They are getting really out of hand. Possibility for 500+ MB of memory leaks in couple of playtime hours is just not acceptable under any conditions.

What seems to be happening in the past few weeks is new. A lot of people who hardly experienced lag at all in the past are now suffering it everywhere, even in public areas and airships.
This could be because they all changed PCs in the last few weeks, or all of their various ISPs have started to deliver terrible connections in the last few weeks, or (far more likely) it's because of the one common factor - Turbine's end of the system.
I myself have rarely if ever suffered from serious lag, but on Khyber in the last 2-3 weeks it has got terrible. Two manning quests and explorers with only one mob aggroed - freeze and fifteen minutes later we are dead. Walking to the bank and rubber banding all over the place.
I think I'll take a week off and come back afterwards to see if it's been addressed by Turbine.

if not i'm gonna transfer to another server.
Ha! The transfer will lag causing you to lose the character on Khyber and not get one on the new server... :p

It's not just Khyber, I've personally experienced it on Argo as well. I've got good system specs and relatively stable internet (Comcast has its issues, but I know when the lag is due to Comcast) these days. I hadn't been getting the lag people were talking about at all until yesterday, and I can rule out my internet because I quit Argo and was able to log on to Khyber and play, with a spot of rubberbanding here and there that was more annoying than crippling.

Hi, the lag that you described in the other thread is not necessarily the same case we're talking about. Although it could be, you didn't stick long enough to find out. Chat not going through usually means textbook style disconnect. Our chat and voice are going through normally. That rubberbanding you experienced on Khyber is the least of the lag monster (again you didn't stick long enough to find out). When it hits, it's really not playable.

dont give me that 'be more specific' thing. i have nothing to say to be more specific.
the game is barelly playable atm. look at all the threads about lag that have opened.
and noone in Turbine cares to give us an answer, after all these days of lag and all those threads about it.

oh shush. just ran EN peaks, whole party laggedeedood around the place like crazy, after dozens of needless rezzscrolls and whatnot burned somehow finished only to have the old chest/endless spawn bug back as the icing on the cake of frustration. probably you are gonna tell me now that the chest has router/ISP issues right?
there is but one explanation here:
incompetence
?n?k?mp?t(?)ns/
noun
noun: incompetence; plural noun: incompetences
inability to do something successfully; ineptitude.
"allegations of professional incompetence"
synonyms: ineptitude, ineptness, inability, lack of ability, incapability, incapacity, lack of skill, lack of proficiency, amateurishness, inexpertness, clumsiness, ineffectiveness, inadequacy, deficiency, inefficiency, ineffectuality, ineffectualness, insufficiency
and the way this is ignored leaves me speechless at best, as do some genius fanboys STILL blatantly blaming it on peoples connection or PC specs.

the last 2 weeks, and especially the last 4 days have been a convoluted cluster**** on multiple servers, at various server load levels, and various times for various people with various PCs and connectings - this is FAR beyond ANYTHING that could remotely be caused by peering routing lack of RAM etc from client side,
the servers are going wonkers, period. nobody does anything about it for a week, repeated obvious complaints and a plethora of bug reports nonwithstanding.PERIOD.
this is the kind of level of messup that would lead to termination/re-evaluation of server subcontractor in a gamecompany that still functions normally...

Not too long ago I was doing server favor runs. I noticed that Argo and Kyber were the worst in terms of lag than the other servers.

Im on argo and was ingame the last 4 days about thrice a day at various times. and while most of those times I could get some lag free game done, EACH SINGLE DAY, at least ONCE, OFTEN TWICE OR MORE, I had party wide or raid group wide lagouts. the lagout phases are inconsistent with server load btw, I'm based in Europe, so when I play my morning servers are relatively empty, and I have had issues during those times as much as I have had them playing with my US guildies at my late evening/night time

As someone who actually works in IT, I can tell you that anyone saying "I am lagging" is ignored.
Someone saying "I am lagging, that is not my PC is usually considered a person who doesn't understand anything, or a liar(because 8 out of 10 times people lie to you about this for some reason).
Describe what exactly is happening, or nothing changes.
I know that the **** is lagging, but we have no proof. Until we get undisputed proof, and someone kicks the turbine guy asses, we are not getting anything fixed. Also as long as there is one person saying "I am not lagging" ewryone (usually rightfully) assumes that its not the providers/servers foult.
There are so many different lags, that are pretty consistent, and not fixed, I don't think this time will be any different. We just gotta find the thing that people that don't lag have.
In the past it has been
4GB Ram
SSD
Changing back to direct X 9
Rebooting your router
Turbine changing their ISP.
Problem is that the main lag is spiked, and that there are other sources of lag, that are not fixed, making it harder to narrow it down.
Lagged dethwyrm? Known thing, there is no lag.
Lagged while in loading screen? Known thing, there is no lag.
Lagged anywhere, when on same core as event or crafting room? Known thing, there is no lag.
None of the above? Its probably ether Clients router, or hiccup with clients ISP. There is no lag.
That's how IT works.

no he doesn't.
every single player on khyber knows what he's talking about. it's not the computer, it's not his ISP, it's not on his end. it is khyber.
every single player on khyber is affected by it. it's not 24/7 but it is getting worse. most of the day it is just unplayable. i'm not going into detail here, there're already countless threads about this lag and it is 99% from khyper players. it's like this for a week now, maybe more and not a single dev member has replied to any of the many threads. maybe a simple reboot will fix it, i dont know, hopefully it will. if not i'm gonna transfer to another server.
Such BS. I am on Khyber and the only time I have trouble is when my ISP acts up (which is often thank you Frontier). When Frontier keeps my ping below 1000ms (measured by tracert on DDO, yeah I know that is bad) I have few issues in game.
I have done much questing over the past two weeks and only had one instance with bad lag, I just pointed myself to a corner and hit run then grabbed myself a cup of coffee. Couple minutes later and I was able to finish the quest. The biggest mistake I have seen when you have lag is to keep hitting buttons. Just makes it worse.

i dont need a degree to see that a game lags.
all i do to confirm it, is log in and talk to other ppl who have logged in and cant play the game and also read the loads of threads in here.
that is enough proof for me

I agree that testing and research are important to diagnosing an issue. However all the posts do certainly illustrate an issue that "appears to be happening to many people". I understand the different types of lag but when you are in a group and everybody stops dead for 5 plus minutes and you check the processes and it shows that your client is running instead of not responding it would seem you are connecting to their end just fine. I could be wrong but I am investigating as you suggested looking for answers. Although they should be looking for answers and offering a polite we hear you and are working on the issue. That simply lets me know they are hearing us the masses. That our concerns are not falling on deaf ears. They collect our money just fine we deserve a little bit of service. Heck I'm not even asking for a lot just a little bit. I have lagged everywhere in quests in the marketplace on the ship you name it. This beast is out of control.

They are not worthy imo. The council should hold a meeting and deny them the right to use it. Of course this only would be of symbolic value, since this council has no power whatsoever. And I doubt they would even come up with this result, since most of them are fanbois. Oh dear.
As someone who actually works in IT, I can tell you that anyone saying "I am lagging" is ignored.
I appreciate your constant defending of Turbine, but do you think they would “ignore it” when people quit and the money quits coming in?
I am no IT person myself, but you would think that with all the threads/posts about the issue that Turbine may want to “test for themselves” what is going on. This is a very naïve thought though.
