I heard rumors about Favored Souls getting a third class tree.

Is this true? Or is it untrusted information?

Dev Tracker is your friend.

Fixing Druid is a large project. Druid forms definitely need addressing, and that's a complex change that will require tech to do correctly. We will probably do a Druid revamp with a much needed third tree after we finish the third Favored Soul tree. At that time Druid forms and Druid trees will be examined.

No time frame there though.

I'm wondering if they'll make the 3rd tree a healing tree or if they'll make another caster tree.

Personally I'd like to see 2 casting trees. Maybe revamp AoV so it focuses on evocation, have the 3rd tree focus on necromancy. Throw in SLAs for each of those schools to rival the divine disciple tree. Or they could put a multi-selector in the AoV tree similar to divine disciple that lets you take one of two paths - evo or necro. That'd free up the 3rd tree for healing.

Since Beacon of Hope is a path for FVS...am guessing they are supposed to be the Almighty Supreme Healers compared to Radiate Savant?

Wonder if they'll get a Mass Resurrection spell...

Good point. It'll probably be healing.

I hope they fix Warpriest while they're at it. That tree is very underpowered. I run a battle cleric as my main and I don't use it other than for a few splashes like divine might.

Would adding MP to capstone and to the Righteous Weapon line be enough of an improvement?

It's planned to be "ranged" tree.

No. So many problems with the tree. Cooldowns that are too long, durations too short, righteous weapons line that doesn't support the best weapons types in the game, Light/fire spellpower melee clerics don't care about, ect.

Where did you hear this and can you be more specific?

From a developer, it's something that was planned and not started yet. I'm sure there will be some changes. I personally would like to see AoP tree: Angel of Protection.

Some of their SLAs are cool. Like, Astral shield: reduce incoming damage and bestow temporal HP at the same time. Unlike cleric: radiant savant, AoP is all about increasing the defense and damage mitigation.

Also, AoV should be revamped. If we think about this... Biggest feature in AoV is aura of menace. I think it should be more AoM oriented tree. This means, every damaging SLAs should only be used on the enemies within the aura range.. It could be pure damage or even debuff. Shield of Condemnation and Crown of Retribution needs some rework as well... It's very underwhelming.

Now THIS is the update I'd be waiting for. I love my favored souls.

Why the fixation on Necromancy? In pen and paper, necromancy is far more the domain of clerics [even than wizards, in fact], and certainly not typical for Favored Souls. That's part of the reason they don't get Turn Undead abilities.

Current trees within the game don't very strongly match the original listing, so using that list as a basis of what to expect is inadvisable.
Or, put more simply: The devs are no longer using that list as a reference point, so we shouldn't either.

However, for reference, from the archived DDOWiki pages:
"Beacon of Hope: These favored souls are unmatched in their capacity for healing. They are able to revive and heal allies more often than any other class and are always ready to aid anyone in need."

"Divine Avenger: Equal parts warrior, support caster, and healer, these favored souls swing their weapons more often than they cast. Although not as specialized for spell casting, they are more skilled with weapons than any other caster."

This is some of the early work I had done for this one (very subject to change):

Favored Soul Divine Avenger I (Sovereign Host)
Prereqs: Level 6 Favored Soul, Favored by the Sovereign Host, Favored Soul Attack Boost II, Favored Soul Charisma I, and any of the following: Power Attack or Two Weapon Fighting.
Cost: 4 AP
Benefit: Everything the gods need to say to your enemies can be said with your weapon. When wielding a longsword in your right hand you are treated as if you have a fighter’s base attack bonus. You also gain the ability to swear an oath of enmity against a foe, vowing to destroy them in the name of your deity.

Oath of Enmity
Benefit: You mark an opponent as your chosen foe with a righteous smite. This attack gains twice your Charisma modifier to your attack roll and a damage bonus based on your Favored Soul level. Whether or not the attack hits, for the next five minutes, each time you critically hit your chosen enemy <SOMETHING AWESOME HAPPENS - oath mechanics are still very much in development, and this is just a hint> for a short period of time. (This bonus stacks up to ten times.) Your Oath of Enmity recharges after five minutes, or upon the death of your chosen foe.

Repeat for other deities, replacing "favored by" as appropriate.

Lord of Blades accepts any of the following: Improved Fortification, Power Attack, or Two Handed Fighting.

Silver Flame accepts any of the following: Point Blank Shot, Weapon Focus: Ranged, or Zen Archery, and instead of a melee smite as their Oath, gets a ranged attack, and their Oath mechanic was a little bit different (and wasn't working properly at all :)).

As very much as I'd like to see a proper offensive spellsword type class in the game [and finally have some synergy with the inherent weapon bonuses Favored Souls get], the addition of the Warpriest tree (and the mechanics within that tree being notably similar to the general ideas posted for Divine Avenger) suggest that Divine Avenger won't be the one being added in.

Because other than Evocation, Necromancy is generally the only other spell school that is supported in the divine spell book and viable when it comes to offensive spellcasting. You could argue a few exceptions I suppose. Adjuration has banishment and conjuration has cometfall.

I was going to post the same link, but I've never heard about the ranged tree thing. That link is a healing/light themed tree, and I think it looks really nice so far

I think necro divine is really lame in DDO.. They do have some nice spells, but... overall it's "meh..".

In fact, clerics already have divine disciple, both necro and light.. So why not fire/light for new FvS tree. Btw, Angels are made out of pure fire and they use light to feed themselves.. I really enjoy the lore in D&D and for what FvS are stand. Let's not make it necro.. something angelic pls :p

Yeah, I hope you can forgive me, whenever there is a thread about divines, it's just die quickly and Dev message is in the abyss now. It was 3 - 4 month ago.

New selection for members is coming up anyways so il be the first one to say that

nothing is planned:
"I am a member of the Player's Council 2014, acting completely independently from the Developers in this thread which is neither approved of or disapproved of by the Devs"

I hope it will be something fun, and really something different, maybe a little merging with arcanes is a good thing, but something really fresh would be great. Fixing AoV's cores and Buffing warpriest alongside would be ideal.

AoV cores could be replaced with the scourge - on hit x times effect - mechanism, it would essentially become the same "lore/description wise" but we could actually see the benefits on our characters. I think a be at /below x% hp, was never really playtested, it really should have been.
