Airships in 3bc

I'm sure this is a total noob question, and I'm actually somewhat embarrassed that I can't figure this out, but how do you fight the airships in epic 3bc? I can't seem to aim the ballista, and I have no idea how to actually get aboard the ship to fight.

Any help would be appreciated

There's only one you can actually board, it should be fairly obvious which one that is if you run into it.

You have to use targeting mode to aim the ballistas.

You can board 2 them actually. The bell tower one, and one of the ones that spawns near prove your worth/garl's tomb if it's near the rocks.

With the ballista I usually have better luck if I aim slightly above the air ship.

I typically do not run in mouse-look mode, so for me the ballistas fire in the direction I am facing. Also there is a great deal of drop-off as the bolt flies toward its target. I look directly at the airship, then raise my sights to look "over" it. I then just spam fire the weapon until the ship blows up - usually 8-10 shots. I don't bother to go aboard at all.

Not mouselook(first person mode) - target mode - like you use to hit target levers in Bargain of Blood, or Von5 for example. Where you hit "T" to toggle target mode - then use the ballista while the targeter is locked on to the center of the airship and colored red.

hold right click or use mouse look mode, til the point where u are aiming (or the circle in the middle of your screen) is aprox over the airship

left click the ballista, should be somewhere in front of you, it doesn't really matter if it's exactly in the middle between u and the airship or it's on your side, while you are aiming the airship and click the ballista, it will fire where u are aiming to

also, don't u dare use a ballista in the quest precious cargo, horrible way to die
