Where are all the Gamers?

It has been some time since I posted a forum thread and it has actually been five years since I actually rolled DDO with any regularity. I have been back for a little while now and am working my characters up to 20 and beyond. The trick is, there are hardly any LFMs up. I don't play this game to solo, so ... where have all the players gone? From what I read, they all hide out in guild chat and channel chat. Well... perhaps someone who knows me from the old days would be willing to vouch for me and invite me into one of these "top secret" channels or such so that I can find some like-minded players who remember the days of yore, when Velah was the only dragon, when the Abbot was nigh unto impossible and when ... you know its coming ... DEX WAS HERE ;-) . Ping me in game or send me a PM here if you can help an old timer out. Thanks.

BTW - I have been rolling on Rexxx mostly lately (trying to push him to 20), but you might find me on Dex, Yonn, Brio, Cazz or Vexation in game (usually after 10 CST).

The channels and such aren't that top secret, just if you aren't grouping up or chatting to anyone then there isn't really a way to get an introduction to people in them unless you start randomly sending tells to people on the who list which i wouldn't try to do myself.

Best method to get in to one of the social groups is just to jump on the guild thread and join in one of the high level guilds that are seeking members. Try out a few of them if need be as that is a great way to get in contact with players and their guild buffs help a long way to quest bonuses these days. Guild members don't always quest together, though thats the fastest way to get introductions to players on the game and once you find a couple that you meld well with then you will have a nice band of people to quest with.

My personal approach is just to use the lfg boards. Sometimes its dead others times its active, though you really find the same with static groups as life gets in the way of people being on all the time. Whenever there is nothing on the lfg, just host something that sounds fun. If its fun for you, its fun for others plus you gain the experience to be able to appreciate leaders and party members of the others you do fall in to mingle with.

Ah, i know, not really giving you the vouch thingy that you are after though felt like adding in a little input. It is a fun game and a fun server and the activity is there if you keep at it. Hope it goes well for you, and welcome back to the realm!

I know our guild is pretty active generally, but Christmas time has been busy for most of us. We do post LFM's when we have openings, and defiantly for raids, which we do 2 or 3 times a week. I have noticed under 20 seems to be harder to find LFMS for.
