View Full Version : Are new players looking for people to group with?

I have recently seen some threads that suggested there are new players to the game who are looking for non-zerg flower sniffing groups to learn content, but are reduced to soloing because they can't find these groups. So, I am considering taking some time to host some flower sniffing groups on Ghallanda. If you are a relatively new player and this is something you'd be interested in let me know. If enough people express interest in this, hopefully we can work something out.
If you think you want to respond but are afraid of running with veteran players, respond anyway. I like running heroic content, I like new players, and I don't offer unsolicited advice.

Is someone who has been around for a bit over a year too old to join in?

I wouldn't count that out immediately. It depends how you've been playing over the year. If you've been playing pretty casually and you interested in learning more about the game, I'd say you'd be ideal. If you've been playing really hard for a year and you're basically always in zerg mode, then this isn't the group for you. If 3 people are interested in doing this on Ghallanda, I'd be up for it.

"Reduced to soloing"--jeez, some people like soloing.

When I first started I liked soloing, but as I said it seemed to me that some new players were concerned about not being able to find groups appropriate for them.

New players looking for a server can find a REAL GOOD home on Ghallanda. There are some long standing guilds that cater to new players and casual players alike on Ghallanda. For example, The Old Timers Guild, Blackmoor Defenders, and Tyrs Paladium are three such guilds, but there are many more. If any new (or new-ish) player would like to find mature, fun folks to run with where no one zergs or acts like elitist a-holes, I can offer a solid, fun drama free, no zerg party option.
--*-- Run with a Fellowship guild. PM me to get details how to join the Alliance. You can join by yourself, or with a friend, spouse, family member etc. Then you can join scheduled quest and raid runs on our website, or join impromptu runs in the Fellowhip's in-game chat channel.
--*-- Another option is to join in when a veteran player like MonadRebelion decides to put something together like in this thread.
DDO is still hootin, and Ghallanda is tootin'! New players, dont listen to anyone on the forums here that says DDO is dead. The game is as good as WE make it. If you want to have fun in DDO, send me a PM or hit up Tyrs Paladium or the Fellowship alliance at ANY TIME in game or on the forums!

The Fellowship Website - Sign up TODAY! Fill out a bio so that Alliance members learn who you are, welcome you, and get into groups right away! THEN sign up for quests or raids VIA MOBILE (ANDROID OR iPHONE/iPAD devices) Its pretty slick :)

I'm not sure how regular I can be, but I have created Curissa Hazelnut on Ghallanda, a level 1 human Wizard. I have not played a Wizard in D&D before, so I'm sure to make lots of mistakes. When I say created, I mean I haven't even done the pre-korthos intro-quest yet. Of course, by the time you read this, I'll be in snowy side. Might not be much further, though.

Hey Hazelnut,
I put up an lfm for new players yesterday, and got 4 newish players. We took our time running through the harbor and finished everything except water works. I have a friend who is new to the game that I am going to try to run with at a regular time. If you want to run with us, tell some times that work for you.

Im new and looking to learn.
I'm an old hand at MMO's but this one has me stumped a bit - would like to learn more on the basics of grouping/running so I can do my part well (ranger/rogue melee with trap skills). Level 4 and climbing, so i need lowbie quests to do - just finished soloing waterworks today.
Let me know whats out there if any of you are still doing this.

I realized I forgot to change base stats at character creation, so I bungled this guy - rerolled a new along same lines, names Furhy.
I bought a new unopened copy of the original game online and should have it arrive here by Friday, which should (from what I've read) give me 30 days vip followed by premium status here - hoping that goes smoothly, and may make it to where I can do more then plain f2p stuff.
I'm checking your guild site today, ty for the heads up.

For now, I am still looking to learn and I'll check those messages today as soon as I figure out how.
