Ghallanda Holiday Event!

Hi Everyone,

So I was reading the dev tracker came across an event by Lady Sorrows (https://www.ddo.com/forums/member.php/378281-LadySorrows), I thought it was great so I decided to host one on Ghallanda :)

Basically it will be a server-wide secret santa. Anyone that wants to participate simply needs to PM and/or post on the thread me their character's name and class (for a more class-appropriate gift) by December 18, on December 19th I'll be sending everyone the names of the character they are sending the gift too, and then on December 20th you send your gift out. I will send in-game mail to each of the participating characters giving them the name of the character they send the gift to.

The gift can be anything reasonable, because I wouldn't expect a brand new level 1 character to be able to get their hands on some EE weapon. Just use your judgement and pick something that you feel would be a decent gift.

One character per person please. I will be using the honor system for this event, so please be kind to others.

I would like to assume that everyone will be friendly in the spirit of this winter-time event, but in the case that you don't have your present within a couple days of December 20 please let me know and I will personally send you something.

The mail that tells you who your gift is to be sent to will be sent from either Kestros or Aerle, if it isn't from them then it isn't legit :)

Great! For now, you don't need to do anything. You'll be receiving an in-game letter on December 19 telling you the name and class of the person you're giving a gift for, and then on December 20th you send the gift to them. I'll be re-explaining it in the letter on the 19th to everyone :)

That's awesome, spellsingers are a rare breed these days, especially pure. The only other one I've grouped with all life has been my girlfriend/leveling partner, went great with my rogue assassin hehe :)

True, but I need people to have guidelines for who they're purchasing for so they can feel more confident that the receiver can make good use of the gift :)

For anyone who didn't make the mistake, although I did say we were to give our gifts on the 20th it seems that a large portion of the people didn't realize that and sent out their gift as soon as they got the name. Nothing wrong with that at all, I'll probably just have it set up that way next year haha :)

For sure, you two could totally exchange gifts. To make it secret, you could create a toon each and send the gifts through them. You'd know each other's forum username, but the characters could be deleted after mailing your gift to your main/whoever you want to have it :)

There's always next year, I'll be hosting it again so keep an eye on the Ghallanda Forums (and with a little help from Cordovan I suspect the chronicle again) in early December :)

Awww, so close lol. I can see what I can dig up, but for a level 28 Arti that might be tricky since I don't tend to stick around upper epics, I generally do 1-28 and eTR/TR or 15-28 and iTR. I might have a few general things I can send out though :)

Don't hold your breath on the 4k shards or a box though, my guild only recently scrounged up enough for the Kraken and I'm low on TP because of that haha :)

For sure, keep an eye on the forums next december. I plan to keep this going annually as long as people care to join in :)

lol. Thanks for the thought. I would LOVE the name of who was my secret santa though so I could give them a piece of my mind about holiday spirit.... That would probably just bring problems though... Or it's someone I had a little tiff with and they are just being children about the whole thing...

I am sorry to hear you missed out, I guess that person has not realized, or there was some error. I got and sent mine and had a couple of mails back and forth so its a good way of making new friends. I would offer you something also, although I have never got to lvl 28 myself so doubt I could give anything you would value.

Funny I ran last night through Wheloon (heroic) chain and went wow all this loot has made most of the stuff I was wearing seem so second rate! I guess I now need to run the rest of my toons through (although it took some time with a great pug group), wish I had added that group to my friends list, but thank you to that group was great.
