Hi just wanted to know the current state of the game. somthing like a half year (or longer) ago i stoppped playing ddo, didn't planned it just didn't find the want anymore and shifted back to play more on my ps3. I played 2/3 times a week and had a main toon that first was planned to go to 20 but ended up to go to top level . It was almost there but things got boring and took too long. i was mainly a solo player with the idea to first learn all the quest at least from playing once before joining any group. I stopped my vip also some time ago, but now in doubt if I should dip in again or not. Aside from the swash buckler i din't see anything new that can convince me (was hoping on more eberron or a psychixc warrior coming out in the future) now or planned as such. But... to those still very involved in the game.. Am I wrong in thinking this?

Swashbuckler, epic three barrel cove, epic orchard, changes to armor, paladin revamp. Future barbarian changes in the works.
I'll let you decide if any of those sound interesting.

If you've been gone for 6 months, content has not changed much in the last 6 months. EPIC 3BC and Epic Orchard are just rehash of older content (With new capstone quests added). Obviously the loot from those packs have been epified and some of it is pretty nice.
If you left before Haunted Halls came out, then you might be interested in revisiting. It is the best designed quest in the game IMHO and there are a few nice loot items to be had. 2 Thunderholm raids were added at the same time and they are still being run fairly often with some great (Thunderforged Weapons) to be made.
We had a revamp of AC and Armor defenses to make Armor somewhat more useful. And Paladin got a significant upgrade also.
I'll let you decide if any of this merits a return for you.

I came back myself after a few months off recently.
As mentioned before there is some new content.
Mostly, I found my builds don't quite work the same anymore upon returning.
Just like the TWF/THF change and the Spell Pass, there have been some changes to armor and defense systems that may force you to rethink how you are built.
Also, many EDs and enhancements are different. I understand Heal Amp is changing soon too.
Some old toys were nerfed away, but there are also lots of new toys to play with, so I am happy with the changes myself.
(Although, I think I'm switching to more Vanilla Type characters because every time I come back from a break my "Flavor of the Month" has been nerfed) :-D
Anyway, welcome back and happy questing to you.

You can play very solid melee character with a shield, you have magic resistance from your amor and shield so you are less forced to splash for evasion.
At higher levels fully armored arcane, heavy armor + t.shield is doable with Eldrich Knight.
Bard swashes are top tier melee characters.
The Mark of Death raid on EE is quite challenging, altho most people will go ENx20 route to play it.

thanks for the info, will give it a decent try on my day off soon. i have to admit I was actually hoping on more new eberron content (and psychic side added more through that side), but I guess FR is in the spotlight these days.
Also although not all are waiting on it but housing (or another new neat solution) that would allow you to store all that loot you were planning to use in the future. Constantly redoing my inventory got more than annoying in the end

Housing. Dunno if it is the intent but IMO the revamp of the guild ships seem to be turning them into a form of housing. Doesn't help with bound items, but it is definitely a unique customizable play area in its own right.
