View Full Version : Thuriel, the Mad Archon
"Birthed in pain, her rebel thought..."
"...like unto the serpent, feeds upon itself..."
"...till heaven rivals hell for fury."
"Love with vision dies, and sovereign truth..."
"...upon the perfect glass a chasm tears."
This is my favorite order in which to put Thuriel's speach.
Also, we need an Epic Amrath. So much potential there. What is in the Enforcer's Prison? When will we visit Archon City? What about the Demon's territory?
"Forget the tales you know... Shavarath shall rewrite every verse and rhyme in blood and glory."

There are so many possibilities for rehashing older content for epic. As you suggest amrath, but also vale, restless isles, inspired quarter, etc.
There choices seem more based on which packs are the least purchased to sell more to premium accounts.
I don't TR often, but visiting Shavarath is always something I look forward to.
Everything about this pack just feels epic.
If they plan on making an actual endgame then yes, please epic this.
I'd prefer an expansion upon the existing storyline though with new quests, instead of rehashing the old ones.

IIRC it's already been said that they're saving epic amrath with the whole angels/devils thing until the final cap increase to 30... and hopefully it'll be a bunch of full new quests rather than the rehashes. There's definitely a couple of storyline threads that could lead into it, but then there's quite a lot of those little bits all over the place if you look, particularly if you take the time to talk to various npcs.

I am very cool on this idea. The Devil Battlefield still leaves quite a hurt even as an Epic character if you venture there. As Epic quests, that plane should be the game's sole definition of total war, where the demons and devils' assault will make the combined forces of Faerun Drow and Netheril seem like a battle against emaciated plague-ridden kobolds with dull sticks.
The Epic Devil Battlefield should make anyone cry on entering. Abandon all hope, ye who enter. Even Lolth should get a chill up her spine looking at that place.
How about those other two locations the planescaller in the twelve has listed for teleporting to.......

Please, no more epic updates that recycle old content. I want new quests with new stories.

I commonly see references to the planescaller for unfinished content, which I understand. But I don't think anyone ever mentions Ataraxia's Haven. Whole explorer area, two quests, and really doesn't fit into any game storyline as far as I can tell.
Always seemed like a red headed step child to me.

As Eth put it, I would prefer a continuation for the Amrath storyline. That's what I think about when I say Epic Amrath :)

Shavarath was one of the possibilities v. Orchard for an Epic upgrade.
So, Shavarath is on the radar. If I had to guess, I would guess that given it is some of the hardest content in the game at level and even above level, an Epic Shavarath is quite likely your level 30 End Game, some day.

I would love an epic amrath area, and like the others of this thread I would like a continuation instead of a revamp. I would like to see necklaces/rings/belts though as the loot again, but upgraded of course. I don't remember that archon always being there, I think that was put in at a later update than when amrath first came out. As a level 30 area I think it would be really cool. Another point of interest out there that catches my attention is the fire mountain. That could be a cool area.

We are in luck! New Shavarath content with Update 26 later this year. I just posted a suggestion requesting that the devs address the Refuge of the Mad Archon and the Enforcer's Prison with the new Shavarath story line.

im very excited about this upcommin update.
ive said my opinion before that this pack has great potencial because of all that mystery that surrounds Amrath,
though in my mind i would love to be able to play inside the storylines of the Amrath Heroes that used to wear the rings.
Every ring has some history behind it, as u can read in its description.
how awesome would it be if we could be a part of that history!
reading some of the ring descriptions makes u imagine the story behind them
the 4 Savants
Kyrian's Band: The silver band is warm to the touch. It belonged to the Fire Savant Kyrian, who wore it when he burned each of the three towns to the ground.
Calitomes' Ring: The talented Air Savant, Calitomes, wore this engraved silver ring. She could whisper to thunderstorms and bend them to her will.
Thamor's Ring: The powerful Earth Savant Thamor wore this ring when he shook the earth and crushed an undead army.
Telvi's Touch: When the Water Savant Telvi saved a forest village from a wild fire that threatened to consume it, this glittering gold ring was circling his finger.
Heroes who entered the Portal to Shavarath
Kilau's Band: This dented and scuffed ring belonged to Kilau, an arrogant and deadly Tempest. He was last seen entering a portal to Shavarath, shouting challenges for a worthy fight.
Nyoko's Band: This simple golden band was worn by Nyoko, an infamous Ninja Spy, whose disappearance coincided with the opening of a portal to Shavarath.
Rahkir's Ring: This ring courses with magical energy. It belonged to Rahkir, a famous Archmage and member of the Twelve. He disappeared while investigating a portal to Shavarath.
traitors..?
Morgana's Ring: This ring was worn into battle by the dreaded Warpriest Morgana. Some believe Morgana journeyed to Shavarath and allied with the devils, and that she carried the ring with her.
and my favourite
Shiona's Seal: This ornate ring adorned the fearless Spellsinger Shiona, whose voice still echoes faintly across the battle wracked landscape of Shavarath.
it would be awesome to be a part to these stories or even more, to see the characters who wore them, in action!

Wouldn't be cool if you could decide whether you join Archon army or Devil army? How about battle between 9 hells and 7 heaven for the next expansion.

Oh yes! How about time travel? We visit old Amarath to learn about truth. What really happened to Angels and Demons. Visit archon city to witness that celestials were actually bad guys?? kind of lore would be cool :) I want to know why archon city is so quiet.. Maybe they preparing their final attack, but it requires years and years of charging?

There are screen shots of the Archon City from the DDO Beta, so this content was at least partially finished at some point.

Oh now all this I can agree with heck the main reason why books, movies, and games really stand out is because of the stories behind them. Think of why some movies are total failures compared to others like all them bat man movies made 90% sucked because of a bad story line, and the ones that rocked actually showed more details about the villains that way the hero actually had something to overcome instead of like the old joker he was a loser so ya batman always won, even a little 5 year old could beat the joker. But the last batman it showed the joker as one who was actually a challenge and that made batman finally appear like he actually accomplished defeating a hard challenge instead of a easy wimp.
If you show more history on the heroes and villains like how you did on the storm reaver and truthful one that always makes it way more in depth and feels way better like were part of the story instead of just killing a bunch of dumb kobolds causing trouble we are actually being part of the history and making history as well.
