View Full Version : Lag wipes in deathwyrm

This is what drives players nuts. The whole party lagging out as soon as the dragon goes active. Not prices in auction houses, not duping. The game being unplayable.

I'm one of the lucky ones, it's the first time I see this happen outside of last years mabar.

Edit: Nevermind, as soon as everyone died the lag went away.

It's not so bad to lag wipe in other raids...but deathwyrm is so long that it drives me nuts when that happens.

I ate a timer to run Deathwyrm and we lagged - right at the end. Again. This is pretty frustrating.

Does anyone keep track of the /loc to see if it's a particular instance? I totally forgot to check.

My idea to see if this is really a problem or just the usual to be expected lag, post here server, time and location/instance.

There is no lag. Players are so powerful they breach the space-time continuum for everyone in real life.

Another theory: Oprah plays DDO and occasionally goes: Time Stop for You, Time Stop for You, Time Stop for Everyone!

Something I learned from solo'ing it: trash despawns when you leave a mirror puzzle area. If it doesn't something is bugged and you likely need to restart the raid. If trash continues to spawn the raid will have lag problems.

How to test: go in solo, solve a mirror puzzle killing mobs only as needed, go to next area, wait a few seconds and go back through the portal. The trash will be gone and will not re-appear. (unless it got bugged anyway)

I have done it a dozens of times solo/duo/etc trying to figure out some difference between when it bugs out and when it works properly without success.

I guess this was a normal run? I experienced the same problem when I was trying to get my last completions before TRing just after U23. At some point during the bossfight everybody starts lagging(no framerate drops) and it goes away when everybody or almost everybody is dead.
On EE however lag started when we completed the first mirror puzzle and went into the shadowfell version of the puzzle area. In our EE fire on thunderpeak run we also lagged a few minutes into the run, which resulted in the run taking much longer than it should have.
Does anyone know a way to work around this? Was wondering if the lag would stop after the first wipe so recovering would actually be worth it.
Also has anyone completed ee since U23?
