At the drop of a hat and on a baseless whim of mine, I TR'd my 2nd life level 28 monk into a 3rd life fvs. After 10 levels of blustering through dungeon after dungeon and just not liking the playstyle of a caster, is there anything I can do to get back to a pure monk build on that character? Either it be the lvl 28 2nd life, or just 10 levels in monk replacing the 10 fvs on the 3rd life? I ask because the two routes I see are either A: buy enough lesser reincarnations to equal enough levels to change to monk or suffer through to 20 on this character, then reincarnate again and level to cap(again). I don't consider either as optimal solutions just because the rewards do not equal the costs.

what are your feats and base stats? Surely there is a multiclassing option here that lets you keep past life:fvs after hitting ten levels. Lots of fvs combos work VERY well.

Don't like FVS? Do you still have your +20 Lesser Heart of Wood laying around in the bank or...
If you do, you can use that to resspec to whatever class you want, i.e. 10 FVS -> 10 monk, no problem...

Or you can try the 18FvS/2 Monk builds... they work pretty well.

fav soul is way diff style than monk...but can really kick ass.Need blue scale armor for spell power,or smthin of the like. Flame strike/firestorm is great combo. You'll enjoy destruction when you are vale lvl.Blade barrier too.I feel for ya though,I like melee and spell thower is kinda easy style to play in this game.

I don't have that lesser because it was probably before my charecters time(otherwise I would have done that in a heartbeat). The original goal was a 18fvs/2 monk, but my friend who was supposed to give me the build is nowhere to be found

Hi,

i would advise you to pull through and try the FavSoul to 20, your playstyle will definitely change from lvl 12 and up since you get Blade Barrier and such.

When I did my FavSoul lives on my Wizard , I played him mostly as a melee from 1-11, afterwards your spellcasting will take over and you may actually enjoy that.

I did.

I wouldn't spend the money to LR a few times.

Good luck

FVS is pretty weaksauce in the early levels, try to max your evocation dc for soundburst, and spam holy smites for now. At lvl 12 pick up blade barrier before anything else! it will change your mind. Your monk at 12 vs a barrier farting fvs is not even on the same charts. I completed quests using autorun left, right arrow and the blade barrier hotkey on elite.

It is all in the good spell selection and min-maxing your relevant spell powers, in case of fvs: light&alignment, force, positive, fire.

Later you can slot conjuration for cometfalls for even more CC and nukes.

Caster FVS like most casters get really strong after lvl12+, in fact i would probably have leveled in warpriest up till lvl12 with a great axe.

Nope, the only way to do what you want to do is to get two +5 hearts for 1595 Turbine Points a pop. Then you have to wait 3 days between each one unless you have a reincarnation reset from an Otto's Box. Oh yeah, and if you are not Lawful you will have to buy an alignment change token from the store as well. I forget how much those are exactly, but I want to say 495 points. So sadly, its either grind through all the levels, or open up your wallet.

This seems like the best advice since you want to be a monk again. Your high wisdom means that you can take level 11 as monk with feat: stunning fist, and still land it. Level 12, monk 2: TWF if you do not have it, and ITWF. Then FVS the rest of the way, GTWF when you can get it. You can still learn a lot about Fvs and enjoy their abilities while just stunning stuff since your wisdom is so high.

^^^^This^^^^^^^^

Wait two levels and get blade barrier and just run through the content on whatever difficulty level is fastest for you dropping BBs in your wake till you get to the bosses then just DP them.
Forget Bravery bonus (if it slows you down), forget favor, forget farming loot and just power run to 20.
Cap, restart as a 36 point monk.

Unless you have lawyer money to toss around. Then get two +5 tomes and and alignment change as mentioned or a heroic Otto's box if you can find one.

If you've only made it to level 10, you haven't even experienced the play-style of a divine caster yet. Divine casters come into their own later than arcanes. Holy Smite is no Fireball. But Blade Barrier kicks Firewall's butt, and Implosion gives Wail a good run for the money. Give it more levels before you decide whether you like it or not.

I will echo the others. Hang in there - get to level 12 - take Blade Barrier. After that the main issue is not getting too addicted to that great spell. Even if you still dont like being a FvS your xp will fly as you rush quest after quest using BB to kill almost everything.

just patience. have patience till some more levels. fvs, as any caster in general, is able decimate mobs. but in case of fvs, it needs to get past lvl 10-11. when you will get spell arsenal, its literally unstoppable. as said before - fvs and monk are not even in same league in heroic. spam bb, comets, alingment spells and everyting melts in a masse. just patience.

Bonus - playing as a FvS will teach you about SP conservation (or it'll teach you to be addicted to ConOpp, Torc, and SP Pots), making you better at working with casters. :)

Blade Barrier really is a game changer.

Yeah, OP just need 2 more levels for it... FvS is divine class, a healer. They shouldn't be judged so quickly. Blade barrier with quicken, maximize and empower on will change your game in heroics. It's 1 - 2 hit kill every trash mobs spell. Holy smite will blind monsters and they won't be able to hit you, while running around BB getting hit multiple times. That's how divines also kill archers who stay still. Holy smite + blade barrier + implosion.
