Is Small Problem bugged?

Twice today I have tried running the quest at epic normal. In both cases, I get directions from Brawnpits to talk to the air spirits, then go to the altar and kill the mob. But I cannot click on the altar. Thus, the quest is not completable. Has this happened to anyone else?

You do not need to click the air altar. Just talk to the spirit and it will say something like "hurry they are about to attack" and go back to brawnpits. Atleast that is how it is on EE.

We waited for a long time and the spirit never appeared.

Last I ran it was a couple of weeks ago on heroic and there were no issues. Did you clear the trash around the altar? If memory serves, you can't talk until the trash is dead. If the spirit doesn't even appear, as you say, possibly it walked off the edge and fell down? Mobs still seem to be falling of edges all the time.

We waited for a long time and the spirit never appeared.

I've had the spirit fall off the rock a couple of times. I just jumped down which triggered it to snap back into place then ran back up and had my chat.

Yes, I had excactly that one single time (out of I don't even know how many...). Seems to be really rare.
In my case the spirit was there though, just couldn't interact with him.
Killed everything around the spirit, but I couldn't talk to him.
Was definitely on the right objective, too.
Even went up 2 more times, killed everything again, same problem.
Couldn't finish it. Didn't bother with slow ingame support.

Has anyone run the quest on epic normal since the last update? This same bug bit me twice yesterday, and one of the other party members said it got him not long ago.

I was able to complete is a couple of weeks ago on heroic hard.

It's not just Epic Normal. It's all epic difficulties. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It happens enough though that I've scratched the quest off my list until I know it's fixed.

ETA: What's likely happening is one of the mobs is falling off, so you can't get the trigger to advance to the speaking part.

I have done some poking around on the web and I may have found the answer. It seems that on any difficulty above heroic hard there are tieflings that spawn on the peak that has the altar. There is an air elemental there, as well, who turns out to be the air spirit you want to talk to. As long as the tieflings are alive, the air spirit will try to attack you and blow you off the peak. Once the tieflings are all dead, the air spirit will talk to you. So, you have to kill all the tieflings without killing the air spirit. Well, guess what? I and my party killed the air spirit. So we couldn't finish the quest.

then that was your problem then. in epics the air elemental is hostile. killing it was your parties mistake. if a tiefling got tossed off you will either a need to kill it or everyone jump off and reset it. if you killed the elemental then well now you know not to do it again.
