hey Krimson, just my 2 cents--but if u plan to farm out an improved deception gear piece, the seal of avithoul is more worth the effort. I would farm for Guile only if I were interested in other LoD chain stuff, like the Eenvenomed blades.

let me just add that i mean for epics--in my epic runs i have used the heroic version of guile--there is not much difference.

ya I think the epic version adds a yellow slow and.. +5 bluff maybe? I mean it really isnt worth the grind. The heroic drops constantly and gives you the ghostly and improved deception (which is very nice to have even without sa. Always turns mobs around in ee)

That said with the orchard stuff giving all the effects and stats needed elsewhere, id just as soon as farm the seal. Get a burst of sa dmg along with improved deception. Even some kind of insightful stat if I remember right.

Spinner of Shadows. I farmed one out a few months ago, it took under 20 runs, think I actually only ransacked once. I even farmed it after I had the avithoul ring, just because a necklace was a more open slot for me at the time, plus it has a few other nice things. Just ran solo on EH and posted at the end, before completing, for xp and reserved the guile shard - a surprising number of people joined and it ended up dropping in my name in one of the runs. After years farming for both Epic Golden Guile and Seal of House Avithoul, personally I just decided to take Ring of Deceit from my 20th Fall of Truth completion list. Fully Upgraded it has a Yellow & Colourless slot as well as Imp. Deception, +8 Cha and +20 Bluff/Diplo/Haggle/Perform. It's a nice slot consolidation item.

For my bard I like the augment slot, exceptional char bonus and social skill boosts that come with it. Plus my ring slots are taken. I can go with a necklace.
But you are right. it's the impr deception that I want most.

That's the thing that sucks about ddo's designs the most. The wasted time farming.
can't we just get credits for doing the quest and then SPEND whatever amount of credits are necessary to get what we want?
I mean you're being denied access not because you didn't complete some multitude of quests or jump through the right hoops correctly, but because you haven't won the lottery.

I farmed TOD for 3 years trying to get the kensai ring and never found it after 80 completions.
That whole process is ridiculous and outrageous.

well, that chain gets run a lit--easy to get a PUG together and the envenomed blade would work great for an early epic coup de gras weapon--might as well aim for both!
