Are you simply defending layoffs as a sound business practice or are you also trying to argue that the recent layoffs at Turbine mean that Turbine is a healthy and robust company and DDO has a sound, unlimited future?

If you believe for a second that the only reason for the Turbine layoffs were because they will become the next MaBell of mobile gaming... I've got fantastic lakefront property available for around $25,000 here:

No matter how you shake it, this is another terrible time for Turbine employees this year... pretty much the 3rd major layoff in BARELY two years. Most likely many part timers were let go.. as per the usual in the business, yet this whole occasion will be yet another black eye for Warner Brothers who are showing a rather disturbing pattern here on how they let their people go. Morale at Turbine must be **** poor these days, THEY DESERVE BETTER WB!

So, when you lose your job due to a layoff, is this how you find comfort?
Laying off people has a ripple-effect across an organization, regardless of its scope or if it was planned long in advance. it also has a few unintended consequences, which are being seen here. The customer begins to wonder if there is something wrong financially with the company providing their specific good or service. In this type of situation, some customers may choose to find a provider that is considered more "stable."
Likewise, good talent - guys like me who have been around the block a few times and know how the game is played - start looking at the potential of the company becoming unstable, and will seek more stable employment elsewhere. That's because people who do this for a living have done it for so long, they know the signs of ill fortune's arrival before it actually knocks on the front door. So they bolt before things get bad.
Layoffs are never a good thing. Period.

We already have several threads on this topic, no need for another one. If you wish, continue the discussion here. (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/450285-More-Layoffs-at-Turbine)
