Cove item upgrade question

I have Tier3 Level 20 Cavalry Plate. If this gets upgraded to Level 24, does it stay Tier3,
or does it go to Tier1 (and you lose the augment unless you pull it?)
Searched around but haven't seen it stated one way or another.

It goes to tier one, exactly as if you had made it from scratch. You will lose the augment. Much better to just make a new one since the tier one costs almost nothing.

From Another thread I posted asked about this on Lama-Land:




The augment of an item is lost when upgrading from ML 20 to ML 24. We suggest players either remove the augment before upgrading, or create a new item to avoid losing the augments on their existing items.

Thanks for clarifying. Makes no sense that the upgrade costs the same as simply buying one
outright, so I had hoped...silly me. ;)
