The Dragonshard Dilemma - Crystal Cove

I think we should remove the penalty for Crystal Cove if you're too far apart. Getting shafted 200-250 dragonshards because one person is higher level than you is not fun... or at least remove it for epic. I know, you want people to stay in their certain level ranges but when you're lvl 23 and a friend's friend joins that is lvl 28 you suddenly feel like you lost a lot of your time because suddenly you can't get 350 or so dragonshards a run and merely get 100 or so.

Maybe it's me more ranting than anything else here but what do you expect when I was expecting higher scores and I didn't notice until after the time ended.

Perhaps maybe the penalty is there for a reason yes(preventing power leveling for example) but why is there a penalty on shards too?

Currently if you are more than three levels below the highest level character you get a penalty of at least half to your reward and XP - more if you're more than 4 levels below the highest level character - this is in addition to any penalty the entire group may be getting (for example if the highest level in the party is level 26 and you're doing CR 25).

If I remember correctly the power level penalty to reward (and xp) for challenges and CC was removed for any character level 20 or higher in the past (around the same time the xp powerlevel penatly was removed for all epic characters) and was somewhat recently reintroduced (unannounced and I think around u22). Really wish they'd get rid of it too (at least for epics)

yes approximately around u22 I don't recall when exactly, but in cannith challenges you began to get a penalty to rewards for being more than 3 levels below the highest in the party - at epic levels. Previously this penalty was for heroic and not epic - CC wasn't running at the time - but if I recall correctly - then the last cc there was no individual power level penalty if you were at least lvl 20. currently there is.
