I was looking for a list of sources of MRR but failed. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

Armor/sheilds that have enhancement bonuses, Core abilities from Defender (sacred and stalwart) and some other enhancements from various classes, any item with Sheltering.

Armor heavier than outfits gives MRR, shields heavier than bucklers also give MRR, and anything with sheltering also gives an equivalent amount of MRR as the PRR bonus.

Thanks, I knew that much and was looking for a complete list though but possibly no such list exists. For example do any feats at all give MRR?

I thought MRR would benefit from the same sources as PRR does...
My druid actually got 146/69 PRR/MRR respectively

Do any of the current augments do anything for MRR, or are we going to have to wait for new stuff?

Augments add only to prr atm. Think they said they plan to add mrr augments at a later time but i really cant find the dev quote right now

O.o? I can't log in to verify function ATM, but in the Dev Diary discussion, Sev~ said the Blue Augs of Physical Resistance would apply to both PRR/MRR since they're the same bonus type as (and thus not stacking with) Sheltering.
To the OP - the "Complete list" you seek is quite small:
• Sacred/Stalwart Defender Enhancements
• Vangaurd Enhancements
• Light/Medium/Heavy Armor including 'Forged Mithral & Adamantine Body Feats
• Light/Heavy/Tower Shields - Heavy & Tower MRR is doubled vs Reflex Save based damage sources
• Sheltering Items (http://m.ddowiki.com/page/Category:Sheltering_items) (should include Physical Resistance Blue Augments)
• Unbreakable Adamancy set bonus from Epic Necro 4 Armors & Helms
• Possibly some Destiny sources - I haven't checked all of them to see which (if any) were updated to include it.
Feats (except for 'Forged as noted above) and Heroic/Epic/Iconic Past Lives that give PRR do not give MRR, and Enhancements that grant PRR only add to MRR if specifically noted as such (unless something's bugged ofc).

Unfortunately they changed their mind.
PRR Augments are giving no MRR and they said in the Armor Up weekly broadcast with Cordovan that they were not going to have PRR augments give MRR for now. They wanted to see MRR in action first.
My monk is wearing a 16PRR augment and has 0 MRR.

Just proviiding a data point for comparison...
Paladin lvl 20
starting with 0 MRR
Medium armor with PRR-12 blue augment - 42 MRR (30 from medium armor and 12 from PRR augment)
heavy shield - adds 10 - now 52 MRR
sacred defense stance - adds 25 - now 77 MRR (10 from sacred defense and 15 from durable defense enhancements)
defense boost - adds 15 - now 92 MRR

Hmm... That's the first I've heard of such a statement, and it seems like an incredibly odd decision (even for Turbine) that Sheltering Items would give MRR, but what are essentially Sheltering Augments would not. I'll have to check this out (no offense, but kinda need to see it to believe it ;)) later when I'm on.

I hope its wrong, but its hard to mistake a 0 MRR unless its a display bug, or something specific to monks.

I'm not sure if I was hallucinating, or it changed in a patch.
My main just got back to level 26 last night, and now when I equip my item with the PRR augment, I am getting MRR. I checked it pretty carefully after U23 was first released and the character sheet was showing 0 for MRR. But it was showing 14 MRR last night when I equipped my boots with a 14 PRR augment.
Sorry for any confusion that I caused.

Possibly the augments will give MRR only if inserted into an armor that does?

Resurrecting this thread as I goggled it and did not see any updated wiki info.
Do sheltering items still give MRR?
What other items give this?
I took a break and while running my barb I noticed his MRR was very low, then I read that there were changes and armor no longer provides MRR.
As he was getting a hammering from some casters I though he needs something to help.
Anyone direct me to an unto date list please?

Sheltering items always gave both PRR and MRR (as of MRR being added to the game).
The blue Physical resistance augments initially gave both PRR and MRR, but then this was changed to just PRR. Last I knew the blue augments were named physical resistance did not give you MRR.
EDIT: Blue augments have been renamed Sapphire of Defense and provide both PRR and MRR, just like a sheltering item.
Sources of MRR:
9 Past Life Warlock (3 MRR per life, max 3 past lives)
2-35 Sheltering item http://ddowiki.com/page/Category:Sheltering_items Sheltering also gives PRR
1-5 Insightful Sheltering Items http://ddowiki.com/page/Category:Sheltering_items
2 Mysterious Remnant Turn in in Hall of Heroes (1 MRR for 5000 and another 1 MRR for 7500).
? Mythical bonuses on non-weapon named loot (1-4 MRR per item) (these drop on EH/EE)
11,18 or 25 Mysterious cloak (mysterious remnant reward 10,000) in Hall of Heroes. level 7,14,21 cloaks
Armor does not provide MRR, although shields do.
0,5,10,15 Shields ( 0, 5, 10, or 15) depending on type
This will give you all the class/enhancement based sources.
http://ddowiki.com/page/Magical_Resistance_Rating
At level 28, I have
9 MRR (Warlock past life x3)
35 MRR (Sightless helm from DoJ raid)
1 MRR (Mysterious remnant reward 5000 remnants)
25 MRR (mysterious cloak, mysterious remnant reward 10,000 remnants)

The blue augments are giving MRR.
I have 25 MRR from Sacred Defender.
When I equip Sapphire of Defense +6 my MRR goes to 31.
It also says in the item description that it affects both MRR and PRR.

Thanks!
I see they are now called Sapphire of defense (formerly physical resistance augments).
I assume this would be the same as sheltering (two names for the same thing), and that they do not stack.
Does the description say sheltering?

ok thanks guys
Looks like I really need to get that cloak.
I will look into those augments also, I feel I need some kind of protection.

The level 21 ones really fit well with the spooky augments too if you're in need of intelligence or wisdom
Note that not having a breastplate on makes you more susceptible to lightning bolts...
MRR caps at 50 if you aren't wearing armor, so a cloak + helm + past lives + remnant turn in = 50 MRR on a monk rather than the 71 it should give. Because monks have to be screwed in literally every single possible way bar none. Seriously, every single possible way.
