Running through my paladin life now, starting to look at next Tr. I would like to stay pure except if splash is going to make a huge difference. This is a breakdown of my past lives and the tomes I have. What would be a good build for first time healer/ mainly solo player? I would also appreciate it if I could get a low, med and high level gear breakdown so that I can start looking for specific items before I TR. Any info will be appreciated.

Tomes Used
+4 Tome of Strength used at level 1
+4 Tome of Dexterity used at level 1
+5 Tome of Constitution used at level 1
+4 Tome of Intelligence used at level 1
+4 Tome of Wisdom used at level 1
+4 Tome of Charisma used at level 1

Level 1 (Favored Soul)

Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Druid
Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Fighter
Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Fighter
Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Monk

What gear do you have to work with? I'm inferring your PLs have been melee-focused: what weapons?

I don't really have a lot of caster gear, only the few named items i got while playing through my other lives. I haven't spent time looking for specific loot, that is why I'm asking what to look out for or farm before I TR. I don't mind spending a little time now seeing that most of the lives I have left will be casters. I don't really want to build around specific weapons or anything like that. I will try to acquire what is needed beforehand.

Huh? Nothing. "healer" + "mainly solo" does not compute. You need a way to kill stuff.

Forget "healer", and go for "melee" or "caster". Either can work great; it's personal preference.

Yes, for a Favored Soul, you can completely gear for melee, plus a devotion item and a potency item, and still heal like a rockstar and bladebarrier kite in a pinch.

Just a couple gear ideas. These brought me from mid level to 20.

Shamanic Fetish (http://ddowiki.com/page/Shamanic_Fetish) - pretty good devotion trinket
Belt of Seven Ideals (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Belt_of_the_Seven_Ideals) - potency item for blade barrier kiting
Ghost-Walking Cloak (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Ghost-Waking_Cloak) - provides your charisma for casting as well as ghostly (10% incorporeal miss chance) (I stuck a +20 hp vitality diamond in here, and a Constitution Diamond in one of the other two)

All your other equipment can be melee-focused with no ill effects to your healing

All three of these have a level 12, 13, and 14 version. I just watched the AH for all three items, and traded up whenever I saw one better than I had. None of them are crazy rare or common either, but all three of them have rocked for me. I kept them from level 14 through 20.

Ok, so I've gotten the belt of seven ideals and the shamanic fetish. Ive got all the cloaks of night so will probably run with those. I also have GS goggles that gives me all my immunities. What else would be good to keep an eye out for? I'm also still on the look out for a nice build so if someone can direct me to the right page I'll appreciate it. Thank you

You'll probably want green steel items. Have you got your GS HP, SP, ConOp, MinII, LitII, haste and displacement items already built? I went caster route on my FvS, so spell point and conop might not be that useful for you if you're going melee. If you are going caster, then you'll also probably want to get a Torc.

Only crafted my first GS item last week. Need more scales and energy cells to do the second one. Wasted it on immunities, thought that would open up some slots for nice gear. Didn't know you could boost your hp that much when I crafted it. Lesson learned. Thanks for all the gear info guys. Now I just have to figure out my build itself and then TR.
