UMD Question

I am currently playing a bard. I have a high UMD skill and I've purchased two items off of the AH that were race required thinking I would be able to bypass the requirement only to find out it still says you are not the right race...is this a broken aspect in game right now? I look and the item also says (UMD:0) in the description.

I look and the item also says (UMD:0) in the description.(UMD: 0) means the restrictions cannot be bypassed using UMD.
