So, I just looted an Eternal Wand of Charm Monster (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Eternal_Wand_of_Charm_Monster) from the Tempest Spine raid. And, here's the issue-- it's unbound and, seemingly cannot become bound to character or account (and thus, become immune to permanent damage). The Stone of Change (http://ddowiki.com/page/Stone_of_Change) 'repels' it; so, it cannot be placed in it for any rituals.

Is it innately immune to permanent damage anyways? Has anyone carried this around and had it take permanent, irreparable damage or become broken irreparably? If so, does anyone have an obscure trick to make it bound without using the stone of change?

Will it eventually become irreparably broken from permanent damage just from carrying it around (even in your backpack) in combat?

If it will eventually just become destroyed even by merely sitting in one's inventory, has this situation always been true for the wand? Because I can't imagine that would be the intention for a raid loot eternal wand...

Lay some insight on me, plz.

http://ddowiki.com/page/Item_Restoration_Oil if you want to pay, of course it drops in chests, sure it does.

Also some old info, https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/144744-Guide-to-item-damage

So it looks like as long as the wand isnt equipped, it cant take damage, but I just glanced at it.

That has not been true for as long as I've been playing. I stopped carrying wands expressly because they got broken by fireballs in quests even when not equipped. My scrolls get destroyed all the time whether they're equipped or not.

Not sure why the OP would care about that wand though... not like the DC is high enough to matter for high-level work, and in low levels stuff dies so quickly anyway.

It's somewhat useful as a twink item--briefly. And as a 'flavor item' for those levels.

Has anyone carried this around and seen it take permanent damage?

I have been trying for seven years to pull one of those. I have never pulled one so mine has never taken any damage, ever.

It is only useful at low levels, since the caster level is ONE. And probably only useful on Korthos.

Nobody's carried this eternal wand around or even heard that it takes permanent damage or not?

Right, it's not powerful enough to care. FYI, the Eternal Wand of Charm Monster was one of the very first named items in DDO (older than Retribution, Gastrich Skullcap, or so on).
