I am doing my first primal destiny (currently level 25) and I'm trying to pick out what past life I should take once I make it to 28. I was initially planning to go for fast healing as I was planning my next life to be melee which might have less self healing than my WF arti currently does, but I'm wondering if colors of the queen would be a better choice. Eventually whatever I pick I would try to get 3 stacks of it.
How useful is colors? How much damage do you see coming from the procs (on average)? Is Fast healing worthwhile?
I'm probably going to be sending this guy back to level 1 at least a few times so I'm not sure if that changes your opinion.

Fast healing is terrible. Being healed once a minute is kinda pointless, since it doesn't help you when in a fight, and when out of a fight, it's easy to self-heal.
I took 3 stacks of COTQ and like it. It procs often enough that it helps, and I notice it especially at low levels. I'll be pinging something for 15 damage/hit, and suddenly it'll take a pop of 500 fire damage insta-killing it.

Colors is lots of fun.

Colors is pretty great, 300-500 damage procs, single target or AoE, sometimes instant-kills, sometimes DoTs, sometimes pork appears. As far as I know, they removed all the undesirable procs from it.
Fast Healing is completely useless. Once every minute is too slow to help, and the healing is quite low. You're better off chugging pots, even if that's your only healing source.

That's a lot more damage than I expected. When it said procc'ed damage I was assuming damage like 1d6 fire through flaming. 300-500 seems strong.

Not all the procs do that much. But they are way better than 1d6 fire. ;)
You can see examples of the effects on the wiki (http://ddowiki.com/page/Double_Rainbow). It's not fully updated since they change often though. And remember the 'bad ones' were removed.

Even if they did, it's for now. Double rainbow (and CotQ by extension) just has a cheap cop-out of "we never _said_ it does [provide some benefit it used to provide last week] so you can't call it [killing you instantly, or whatever it does this week] a nerf nor a bug/ use at own risk, suitability for any purpose is nor guaranteed or even implied" written all across it. I'm now briefly in shiradi, and not even planning to touch Double rainbow.
This kind of annoys me, because it has a lot of potential to be fun, but unfortunately some of the devs think a gun blowing up in your hands is the epitome of fun, while my outlook is the opposite.
