During my TR adventures, I'll usually spend level 17 clearing out wilderness areas and using saga xp rewards, since I don't like any of the level 15 quests very much. It's also handy to open up the maps in Wheloon and Vale, where I spend all of my time at level 18. I like wilderness areas, and the xp is surprisingly good. (My first hour in Vale usually nets around 45k without any xp or slayer pots.) Its also handy for me to have an open map so I can find lost Puggers and lead them to the quest easier.

Anyways, I spent a couple hours in Wheloon yesterday. The first hour was spent getting Oriphaun's journal coins, killing ne'er-do-wells, finding rares and opening up the map, and the next hour was spent wandering aimlessly for the key to that locked room in Shar Manor, which holds the last journal to permanently open the map. I think someone threw the key over the wall, because I scoured the area several times resetting the instance over and over, and I'm now convinced the key got eaten by a bug. My last life I couldn't find it either, about a month ago, but I just chalked that up as not important enough to worry about and continued on.

I think it's a pretty low priority, but felt I should bring it up in case the key really got deleted and someone actually cares about opening up the map. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Have the key spawn points changed? Does anyone else care about collecting journals and explorers? Is wheloon and update 19 in general cursed to be one of the buggiest updates of all time?

Well, Wheloon is still pretty new to me (just started exploring it recently) but for what it's worth, I was in there yesterday doing some of the quests and slayers (hate those Assassins!) and I did happen upon a key drop that let me into the left wing of the Manor. I don't remember where it was, though. I was actually more irritated when I happened upon the random encounter Nil (?) who tried to give me a key but my bags were full and so I didn't take it.

snip I had been having a very similar experience with Wheloon, using the heroic map on the wiki to try and find the key. Yesterday, having basically given up hope I randomly came across one at the point where the key drops in epic and finally completed the map.

Hmm, was that the key that's held by the friendly Cleric NPC who wants to be escorted to some location?

I spent a long time looking for it a while back, too. There were 3 locations known to me that I was checking repeatedly, and after something like 60 or 80 checks, I still hadn't found it.

Since then, while not looking for it, I've found it several times, in several other locations than the ones I had been checking.

So, yes, the spawn rate is very low, but it can also spawn in quite a few different places, so only checking a couple spots isn't very effective.

There are 3 keys to the Manor, one from an NPC who follows you, one from an NPC who asks you to recover something and one you find lying on the ground.
