Hey everybody. I've been playing for a few months, casually. When I play on my strong, DX11 capable gaming computer, from time to time I get a weird audio glitch that seems to be related to water.
It sounds like a hit sound of some kind, repeating very fast. The effect ends up sounding like a loud rattling sound. Seems to be when a mob falls down dead in shallow water. that only happens sometimes, near when I log on. I also hear a similar glitch when I go near large waterfalls. In that case it lasts longer (several seconds) and seems to fade in and fade out. Like a guitar delay pedal that starts to self oscillate --if there are any guitar players out there.
The fountain in the south west part of the marketplace does it. And some other quests that have waterfalls seem to cause it pretty reliably.
This computer has 2 GTX460's in SLI and sound is a soundblaster audigy 4 running 5.1. DX 11 is enabled, and all settings in game are maxed. Vsyc on and triple buffered.
Eax is off.
does anyone have any ideas for what this might be?
It doesn't happen on either of the macbooks we play on, and it doesn't happen on the other windows computer I have, (that one is DX10 only)
Thanks!
