Hey guys i was checking up my computer cause i saw it was getting slower and i found out the only program i have in my comp except some game are your downloader/streamer.

Akamai
HappyCloud

Can someone tell me why there is 2 streamer/downloader program for 1 game ? All my other game which are mmo too doesnt even have 1. As a programmer myself, i know its possible to build raw socket and create a streamer/downloader yourself integrated in the game. I could be okay with 1 of them but 2 seem not only exagerated but also suspicious. What is even more suspicious is i would probably have choosen to not install this if the option had a check up in the installation. Which probably didnt have. Can i get an explanation and which one i can definitly delete from my computer?

Akamai is personnaly the worse one of them. There is no way to set upload off on this and its sending information every 30 minute or so even if the game isnt running.

DDO-ML is my workaround. Check around the forum. I got it third hand, but it works like a charm.

once you have installed the game you can just uninstall them both.

Happy Cloud used to be the game download manager for a while.
Akamai Netsession is the current game download manager... and it's only that : a full game download manager... ( for a while Turbine tried to make it mandatory to play, but for obvious reasons players left in drove or used alternate launchers like DDO-ML and PyLoTRO )

As long as you keep the game up to date, you will never need any of them, so they can safely be uninstalled.

However, file fixing ala "verify file integrity" you supposedly will need Akami still. So your choice.

But by all means get rid of cloud.

Also if you have pando installed GET RID OF IT. (hackers took over that thing after it went defunct)

If you keep the game up to date it won't need akamai netsession at all.

If you forget to update your game for a few updates DDO Launcher will reinstall it because the verify file integrity process will consider the files as being corrupt.
If you delete any of the dat file, DDO Launcher will reinstall it to reinstall the missing file.
