View Full Version : Ridiculous Reincarnation Cache

Why do I have to empty my reincarnation cache before I can TR again?
I have filled all my shared bank, all 4 bank slots, all 5 bag slots and there is still about 30 items in the reincarnation cache that I value.
Epic items, to cover all my leveling from 1-20
Yes my character has done a few lives as different classes so I like to keep the epic class gear I have collected.
This system of having to clear the cache is annoying.
Provide us with more bag or bank space, or surely just TR and add the existing banked, bagged items into it, just seems a real drag now to TR.
I run into the same problem every life. I have 5 characters and 2-3 of them are pretty much gear mules. I have to loose about half an hour if not more every life to just get the gear thats not bound to character and send it to alt... or throw some of it away as i do often as well. It is annoying man =(

Yes, emptying TR cache is very much one of the less fun aspects of TRing - even more so because the cache is very very sloooooooow. It ranks up there with having to relevel my build each time I ETR as one of the worst time sinks in the game.

Main reason why I on't TR as much as I'd like to, you need gear through levels 1 - 28, they keep raising the cap, but the inventory size stays mostly the same.

We've gotten more iventory and bank space lately, but not nearly enough to keep up with all the BtC items that've been put into the game.

It's a pity but if they don't make us to empty the TR cache it would be a source of many problems... infinite acumalation of items... Diogenes symptom... it would be a problem for me.

Yes, this is a recurring problem. We need MORE BANK SPACE!!! Let hoarders hoard, I say

The day I realized I only needed like 10 percent of the **** in my bank was the happiest day of my life.

I'm happy for you. Personally, I have nothing in my bank and TR cache that I do not have use for, have used recently, or am planning to use later.

You can post sell-able BTC stuff for ridiculous prices on the shard AH..that is my first resort when i have no room.

I did that for a "Bow of the Elements-Air" and got 135 shards. Too funny, glad I had 2 of them.
But yes this is a minor but bothersome issue. And should be addressed.

The TR cache is by far the least enjoyable part of true reincarnation. The absence of dealing with the TR cache was one of my favorite parts about ETRs. Turbine should just do away with the TR cache all together and offer some type of long term storage option and make the bank short term storage.

Yeah they really need to give us a bigger better option for all our btc gear.

Post all your items all on the auction and cancel each auction immediately. Let all that stuff sit in your mailbox while you TR.

The problem lies in when people TR multiple times, they accumulate TONS of things bound to character. That's one of the problems I've run into in the past, since I'm always doing a TR right after a TR into something else.
I've found as time has gone by 90% of the items I was saving for different TR's was useless.
But since we can now have 100 bank slots and 8 (?) backpack spaces my last TR yesterday, I was actually able to have nearly 50 slots open to use for items I had stored on other mules.
It would be great though if there was a way to keep the TR bank as is instead of having to clear it each life, but I also understand how that will never happen.
The worst part of my TR's is always at the end clearing that slow laggy TR cache.

You know why the cache is so slow? BECAUSE YOU HAVE SO MUCH JUNK IN THERE!!! :)
Seriously, roll a fresh new char and see how fast the bank loads without all that stuff in the cache to load. Asking for more room in the TR cache because it loads too slow is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you should be doing.

:P
Well, junk or not, I actually use the gear I have collected. If not this life, then next week or the week after when I TR again, into a new build.
More to the point, the normal bank does not suffer from this slowness even when filled to the brim with items. The TR cache is still slow, even when it "only" has the 100 (IIRC) items in it that my full bank can have.
Inventory, which is up to what - 120 items?, does not suffer from this either.
So I think there's room for improvement. Very much room, even.

The buy back option is your friend.

I would pay 10,000 turbine points for a endless bag of holding.
LoL yes reincarnanation cache is very annoying to deal with, also you would think a portable hole would do more than 20 inventory slots since it is pretty much comparable to a portable U-haul tied to another dimension.

The toons I have TR'ed have been first life until now. However, having to empty out that stuff is rough. There are way to many BTC items that are not easy to get. IT is by far the reason it takes me so long to TR again. Even one more bank slot per toon you could work for would help. The free to play people must have a fit with this.

Actually quite true, which is probably why they cannot let us reincarnate without emptying it out.
Eventually it gets really slow, so that I would often empty my TR cache late night / early morning weekdays if possible.
I would allow a full day for banking, adjusting, reoutfiting, etc...
The buy back option is only good for 2 pages and 24 hours now, but shard exchange auction house / cancel / fill mailbox works good enough.
Several times over the 93 lives of Fawngate, she just had huge give aways...
It honestly felt great to help others with that awesome item that she might never use again.
Eventually 23 mules holding extra items only makes things get lost in the sea of inventory...

You sir, are my idol! I only have 14 full mules so far, but one day I'll get there :)

True, true. But I would not need to keep all my items in the TR cache if Turbine would implement some sort of Item Manual or Trophy Wall.
The joy of collecting (who am I kidding, the joy of hoarding) prevents me from throwing things away.
