Bug? Karma prematurely capping.

I appear to have encountered an odd and, for me at least, show-stopping bug. I have tried the knowledge base but not found anything.

My epic destinies are capping at 1,979,999/1,980,000 karma, at which point they list as maxed and can no longer gain karma. This prevents achieving the 6 mil karma in a single sphere necessary to qualify for an epic past life feat. At least, I assume it prevents qualifying, but I'm not about to burn an epic heart to test that. This is a major pain, as I've been slogging away to max primal sphere (long after hitting the xp cap) solely to get the feat.

I have raised a couple of tickets on this but the GMs seem to wait until the moment I log off before closing the ticket because I wasn't online (j/k - I'm sure that's just chance!), and I've submitted a bug report through the website but not sure that'll come to anything.

Has anyone else had this? Any ideas what I can do, or is my only option to log in during EST office hours (I'm GMT), raise another ticket and wait?

I'm not sure i understand your problem, but the fact that destinies cap at 1,979,999 is WAI. Once your ED is capped you can still stay in it and every xp you gain is added to the karma pool of the sphere to which that ED belongs. To check what is your karma in a sphere you just need to click on the "map view" panel of Epic Destinies.

Thanks for the speedy response. From what you say it may be I have not understood the figures required, which is quite possible since this is my first ER.

I had thought that I needed exactly 6 mil karma in the sphere, which would be 2 mil in each destiny. Is this not the case? Am I in fact just normally capped, and so can ER now and get the feat? Or, do I need to gain a bit more karma with any of the relevant destines active to top off the karma to 6 mil (presumably this progress would be visible on the map view rather than the tree view, since none of the destines will gain karma)?

If I've just misunderstood then great (and glad the "bug" in the thread subject was followed byb a question mark).

You can continue to accumulate karma in a sphere after all of the destinies in that sphere are maxed out.

You need to gain more karma in any of the relevant destinies to the sphere to top off the karma to 6 mil.

For example, you can have shiradi capped and while staying in shiradi you will still gain xp in the Primal Sphere Karma until you reach 6 mil.

You can see your karma progress in the map view, not the tree view, i'm going to edit my wrong post ;)

Glad it helped.

It takes 6 million xp to max out your karma for a sphere, but 6.6 million to go from level 20 to 28.

Spending a little time in another sphere before you reincarnate means that 600k difference doesn't have to go to waste either. It does add up if you are going to be doing a few epic reincarnations.
