I was in the harbor when the client disconnected on me (which happens frequently). When it goes red and stays red for a long period of time, you can't log out or disconnect - you have no choice but to close the client down and log back in, which I did.
When I logged back in, I was on the complete opposite side of the harbor and was missing about four items from my backpack - one of which is completely irreplaceable in game. I put in a ticket and they told me the GMs were unable to add items to the inventory. So who should I be talking to?

Did you try the usual checking of the "Buy Back" from a vendor, and moving items in your inventory around to see if they are hidden behind other items?

Tried that. Has items that I destroyed a day ago when clearing out my bank before TRing, but none of the items that went missing during my teleport.

Sounds like an incomplete data transfer and save. Recommend filling out a bug report here http://ddobugs.turbine.com/ics/support/ticketnewwizard.asp?style=classic&deptID=24037 and then try posting in account support https://www.ddo.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/134-Account-Management-Assistance to see if it can get cleared up.

Not sure if the bug was entirely fixed but there was an issue where items would appear in bag slots "under" other items, try dragging individual items from one location in your bag to another and see if any more appear.
