Swashbuckler Dodge bonus bug? Or I'm I missing something

So I am leveling up a new bard swashbuckler and finally was able to take swashbuckling style 1. &nbsp;Took the buckler option with the 10% dodge bonus. &nbsp;Check total dodge and its 9%.. huh? &nbsp;Check armor its max dex is 9 which I think also caps the dodge..ok fine. &nbsp;Wait for each core I have (i have two) my maximum dex cap on the armor should go up by 1.. so I should be at 11 so my dodge should be 11. &nbsp;I mean I have the swashbuckling style for 10%, 1% from an item, 2% from the core abilities and another 1% from tier 1 enhancement.. my max total is 14%. Capped at 11 by the armor. &nbsp;Yet I am only getting 9% when I hover over the AC icon on my character sheet. I changed armors and logged and relogged just to make sure. &nbsp;Still the same. &nbsp;Is this a bug or am I missing something. If it matters I am wearing +2 chain shirt of vitality (and i doubled checked its light armor).<br><br>Thanks

The increase to the armor's max dex bonus (MDB) is probably already reflected in the display when you hover over your armor. I haven't tried Swash yet, but that's how it works with the pally Sacred Armor Mastery enhancement, so I presume it works that way for all MDB-related enhancements. What armor is it?

The armor is +2 chain shirt of vitality and maybe that's the case. I didn't think to check armor not in my inventory for what the max dex bonus is for a chain shirt. I am at work now but if someone knows or could check (ie is it 7) then problem solved. Appreciate it.

There is no armor, named or lootgen, in that level range that has a MDB high enough to allow all of the dodge bonuses you can get from swashbuckler. Lootgen is about 4-6 iirc, so you are getting the bonus already.

If you want to benefit from all the dodge you can get, use robes. The PRR benefits of light armor are negligible in that level range anyway.

I forgot about the Frozen Tunic. That's a great suggestion. Anyone know if the frozen state allows coup de grace?

Also you need to activate the swashbuckling stance. It says it is a stance and has the square active enhancement icon.

In terms of light armor which gives you your full Dodge bonus: at lvl 8, Snakeskin Vest (http://ddowiki.com/page/Snakeskin_Vest) is a decent choice, particularly if rog-splashed - base MDB 13 and +10 Search & Spot frees your goggles slot. So are Duelist's Leathers (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Duelist%27s_Leathers), though you'll have to wait for Cove to reopen if you don't already have them.

Maybe you're using a small shield instead of an actual buckler?

No I doubled checked its a buckler. I thihk the issue is I hit the MDB cap of the armor.

Non-breaking space. &nbsp; is how its often represented in simple online coding.

Its a formatting character that prevents a line break from separating two words. Auto-formatting software like most bulletin board programs tend to insert them when they parse your text, and for whatever reason it got displayed there rather than processed. Perhaps the OP typed up his reply in a different window and then cut-and-paste...perhaps he was using a nonstandard browser that pre-formatted the text in a way that the BB system didn't like.

idk if this can help u at all, at least temporarilly, but u can use a robe along with an Armored item. thats waht im doin on my 18/2 bard/fighter halfling and my dodge at lvl 15 is 31/33, with an Armored +8 item.

yeah, its working nicelly so far considering that the cap with robes is 25, and u can raise it with enhancements.

i used +3 dodge cap from halfling, +3 from tier2 kensei, and the other 2% i think comes from ship buff Fensing Master (+2% Guild bonus to Character Maximum Dodge and Guild bonus to Maximum dexterity bonus to armor. )

also, the tier 4 core ability os Swashbuckler, grants an additional 5% dodge cap. i am not there yet and i dont know if it stucks with the rest.

so to sum up, at lvl 20 ill be at 38 dodge cap, using Robes which is pretty nice! i dont know if there is a way to boost more.
i lack evasion though.

For epic there's also epic rakhsasa hide with max dex bonus 25 or so
