You mean players have software that can run their characters through quests, kill mobs, loot chests and get completions, all while the player sleeps? Wow, that's some pretty impressive AI right there. Unless you're talking about players like Haystack and Albus.
If it's those guys and their guild, I totally understand what you're saying. :)

I've heard of services that will have real people log into your account and level your character - but never a totally automated program. I'd imagine the game is too complex for one, but don't really know or care too much. For me personally, the journey is the fun. I don't care about getting to cap as quickly as I can, I just enjoy my time playing.
In any event, allowing a proxy to log in and level your character is against the Rules (if I recall correctly) - so not only is it a boring way to level, it could get you banned if called out on. I imagine any sort of leveling-bot would be likewise verboten.

Lol
Advice: I don't think you can trust all that people say... You can apply it to game and RL..

It happens.
I'm surprised there weren't any changes to a certain quest to stop them from working. (At least I only know of one maybe two quests there may be more)
Not saying anything more because fight club and forum rules.

Thats dumb, why play a MMO online social game to use a macro to play for you.
your party got quiet probably because they suspected a rat was in the chat.
Turbine would be smart to reward people for finding bugs in their game and keep rewarding that discouvory until they fix it.
legal action.. pft...its a game...and its their game.. if they dont like you they can ban you from playing the game anytime they want.

Its not that hard to make a program that goes taught steps, but unless you do the whole aimbot/run into wall for a wile to correct for any stuns, you can only do couple of quests like that. The traps and casters are just too unpredictable.
That said, is someone has made a DDO bot that can solo quests at level, please contact turbine, and give them the code for hirelings. They desperately need that lol.

the ad says specificly that "if you wanna be top shelf player, but don't wanna play endless hours" then describes service.I'm starting to think some of the dupes and problems are found by the paid services, initially.which is malicious and criminal ,considering the gettin paid for it factor.

You can also use a windows macro recorder if you want your character to do EXACTLY the same thing in a quest each time. That could work for racking up troll kills in the entrance to VoN3 while you go to the kitchen to make a sammich, but I don't think that it could do much more than that.

I don't look at DDO as an online social game.
DDO is my favorite first person shooter that happens to have some social features attached.

Fortunately in DDO this really doesn't work. Look at what happened when the stones of change came out the first time, we had a large group of people use them following proven builds...only to be disasters in quests. DDO is the kind of game that the only way to really be a 'top shelf player' is to actually PLAY your toon and learn how to use it. No perfect build or gear is going to replace player skill here. For better or worse, the game has gotten way too complicated for that.

I don't know if programs are used but i have heard someone say it before, there are a few quests that people do over and over without even completing the actual quest, this happens for hours and hours, maybe they have a program while their away or can somehow stand doing it themselves
I don't like to see it tbh but i don't think anything will be done about it

These people are farming something other than xp though. Optionals do not give such great xp without completing the quest it's worth doing. Off the top of my head shroud is still somewhat a culprit for this behavior although a lot of people just farm completions now.

Rare items that may drop in chests. Easy kill counter increase if they're trying to flesh out their Monster Manual. I used to take my wee-rogue through a certain Lordsmarch quest to get an item that would only appear in a locked chest behind secret doors. If the chest didn't have what I wanted, I'd quit out and reset the quest. Rinse/repeat.

You don't get the xp til you finish the quest. If they're not finishing the quest, they're not getting the xp. If they're leaving the quests undone, they're not farming xp because they're not getting it. Are you perhaps confusing not finishing the quest vs. window farming right back in over and over? By not finishing the actual quest do you mean turn in?

You can farm optionals for xp without finishing the quest. There are some quests that have optionals you can do without encountering a single mob, trap, or any form of danger.

I'm aware of that, as I said in an earlier post optional xp isn't that great that it's worth doing that. Furthermore xp ransack decay hits them really fast, and Legend mentioned they do this for 'hours and hours' so I am highly dubious that XP is the answer.

Xp ransack doesnt hit them if you dont finish the quest.
See Crucible, some people farm it on ee.
Also sc, 2k xp in under 1 min, you can farm it all you want, but need to kill few mobs.

If you're using a program that does all the work for you while you watch TV, do the dishes, or sleep it doesn't matter if it great xp or not.

And per Turbine this is allowable so long as the account holder is doing it. This is how many a person farmed Ivy Handwraps.
