Can we get some twink augments.

The augment would do nothing but lower the ml of the item you slot it into by x levels.
Where x depends on what kind of twink augment it is.

Only one of these twink augments can be used on a single item.

I would like having them. However, I fear that this would introduce new bugs. Not sure if Turbine could manage to implement it correctly.

1-2 is fine, more is extremally OP and shouldn't be introduced.

If you don't reach for the stars you'll never set a foot on the moon.

Edit:
The 3th column together with the max use of one such an augment on an item should fix the OP-ness.

There might be some problems in the order of slotting augments.
Say if you have a The Mountain's Fist (Level 25) and slot in a level 28 augment for +2d6 Elemental Damage on Hit, the item's ml would become 28.
If you then slot a Sovereign Twinkie augment the ml should be lowered by 8 levels making the ml 20 again.

If you'd do it the other way around the Sovereign twinky can not be placed first as the ml of the item then still stands at 25, a Superior can be used.
So 25 - 7 would make 18
Now what would happen if I would place a level 28 augment for +2d6 Elemental Damage on Hit, I would hope the item's ml would become 21.

This as Shade's rules dictate that subtractions are handled after summations?

Mortal fear at lvl20 or eSoS at lvl14.

Sure, not OP at all.

A great deal of the difference of a level 20 and level 28 character's power comes from their equipment. There's already not too big a difference in power (due to EDs, mostly), and I doubt they'll want to take away the difference that remains.

It's not like it has never been done before (http://ddowiki.com/page/Ascension_Chamber).
And in a game where you can skip just skip the first 15 levels, I'm pritty sure we're going to see such a thing (a way to lower the min level of items) in the near future.

All ready with cannith crafting's Masterfull craftmanship levels can be lowered by two.
