I hope the quests have been tweaked to be closer to live ready. The mobs died soo easily. And their AI was a tad bit slow.

Also hope amenities had changes to work.

Annnd... I hope both defender and stalwart stances can bypass swf shield limits, and useable with swashbuckling.

Has anyone figured out how to board and airship in Three Barrel Cove wilderness?

I think it's only possible for some airships, because I found no possibility for the Cloudreaver. However I was able to get aboard the Betrayer's Visage. There is a light house next to the ship and you can enter a door at the bottom to get to the top. From there you can jump aboard the ship.

Sadly the rest was disappointing. There were only 2 crewmembers with crossbows and after they were dead, the only thing left to do was hacking at the airship. The Airship was still targeting me with the cannons but not able to hit. Since the Airships have a ridiculous amount of HP I just enabled auto-attack.

Anyone else having any issue getting the quest Precious Cargo? I completed all the quests in the chain, and talked to Cydonie each time. When I try to talk to Niles, he just says "Not now, if you please! I'm tryin' to work out a course for Ambassador Cydonie." I can't advance the chain any further along than that.

Interesting.

In the capstone, Precious Cargo, they come right up to you sometimes so I was able to board those and it let me go into the engine room and destroy the engine. Did you try that?

Ran the chain...

End Rewards are borked. ML5 loot + commendations of heroism. Chain rewards were ML1 options.
The Sarcophagi in grey garl can't be smashed.
I found 3 airships: The one by the black loch was boardable and easily smashed. The one by Grey Garl destroyed all 3 ballista around it simultaneously and couldn't be brought down. The one by Fire Caves has no discernible way to board it, and no ballista around it. Are these things supposed to have the range of aggro that they do (half the island, disregarding LoS), and see invisible?

Ghost of a Chance and Precious Cargo: the saves on those traps are waaayyy too high. Pure Swashbuckler with 63+ reflex saves (without songs) and I was failing everything on epic hard... HARD! not elite. level 24 content guys!

I liked the new revamp to prove your worth. That was fun. :)
Precious Cargo was very cool... though there was one glitch that was kinda funny, and surprising the first time it happened... When you exit any of the holds from Tew's ship, you're standing on nothing until the ship swoops in underneath you. I thought I was going to fall... Ya scurred me!

Yeah those airship, were running around on my BF Pally and suddenly this cloudreaver ship started raining down MASSIVE balls of lightning on me. I mean 4-5 massive balls fired really fast - died in 2 hits. I hope that's not the intention - I had 65 in resist with absorb so the damage in this wilderness area must've been 300-400 per hit. Found a ballista not far but it didn't do squat. Couldn't even reach the ****. So I shot at it with my bow and suddenly it fired again. I mean a broadside of highly accurate massive electric balls. Dead in 2 seconds. Figured there was no point after that.
Need so balancing for sure. It was so high up that there was no way I could ever board that ship.

Pretty much the exact same thing that happened to me, with the 2 Airships I've seen so far. No idea what the first one was called, but hit me with fire damage, and I was immediately dead. This was from the "Round One" build.

Second time, today, was the Cloudreaver that saw through my Invisibility spell, and threw an anchor down in front of me. I tried to kill the 2 pirates that landed, with a Wail of the Banshee, but I was immediately killed with lightening damage before the spell even went fully off. First hit as around 273 damage (minus whatever resist I had from minimal airship buffs), followed by 246 damage, and it recorded 250 something damage to me after I have already been killed (my "Effects" chat box was already showing me being debuffed from death before the 250 registered).

Pretty ridiculous damage, as well as rate of fire, for an adventure area that's only level 25. Maybe that's a good thing for hardcore maxed out players, who want a serious challenge. But for a casual player like me, who doesn't have Invisibility of every character, it makes me want to stay away from the area.

One suggestion. Maybe include a separate slayer for airships like with the dragons in Gianthold?

It's not even hardcore vs casual - it's evasion vs non evasion. This is yet another example of content that favor ranged and evasion. I'm sure my tempest ranger could do well, but not my BF pally. I assume it's not balanced right because if this goes live I just can't see taking any non evasion into the area. It would be pretty pointless.

Every monster seems to have Evasion, I think the programmers are assuming that every player has it too, now. This has gotten simply silly.

I went out into 3BC to hunt for airships. Found one that was very close to the ground. I looked for nearfigured by balistas and found two - but both were broken. the ship had one guy standing on its deck and we exchanged some ammo. He was trading arrows for my Negative Energy bolts so he didnt last too long - although longer than i expected. I then tried to jump onto the deck but couldn't make the jump and fell. I ran back up and got back on the rocks and this time used draconic flyby to give myself a boost. Beautiful, coasted right onto the deck - perfect. Perfect except for the problem that apparently those pirates got their ship from the same kobolds that built the Storm Glory Tempests, cause i floated right through the deck and landed in the water down below. (I just cannot seem to walk onto the decks of airships in Lamannia.)
Apaprently coasting through their ship caught their attention cause they started spamming me with cannon fire . . . er . . . cannon ice, actually. 3 shots and i was done.

reset and came back. this time the balistas were operational but there were two ships. hooks kept landing next to the balistas and guys and girls came down to destroty them - i fought em off and shot the ballista. I think i hit the ship about 20 times total between the two ballistas and when i was done a small sliver of the hit point bar had been removed. Either the balistas are doing like 2 hps of damage or the ships have like 2 trillion hps . I dont know. but after a while the guys sliding down the lines survived long enough to destroy both of my balistas so i left and went back to the tavern for some chicken.

Participated in the Capstone quest event. Thanks for the run Kookie!

Pro's: That quest is awesome. I love the small details and the flow of your mission. The events going on were really fun. No spoilers so, go run the quest, bring rez cakes, and has a blast. Or 20.

Cons: The ballista fire from the enemy ship one shots you. Or pretty much. Sometimes I took 900, sometimes I took 1200. No evasion rolls either. 65 elemental resistances too. On EH. I think they should do less damage. I am not an airship. LOL The mobs were about right I feel. I think EE should double the numbers, not add 0's to their hp bars.

Quirks: There wasn't much dialog to help explain what you had to do. So you could cause problems when you didn't interact with npc's and place them where they would make good use of themselves. Perhaps before taking off from the start, a dialog explaining your options. Or something announced while in flight. The falling through the ships and zoning into mid air was weird, but the drop to respawn at a shrine was a good workaround. Sounds like that issue may go live.

Overall: I really love this quest. Wish it was a raid with more going on.

Perfect single weapon fighting is dumb.
PTWF works with: TWF, THF, S&B, SWF
PTHF works with: THF, TWF (if you're usgin dorf axe or bastard), S&B (if you're usgin dorf axe or bastard), and possibly SWF (IDK)
PSWF works with: SWF

See lack of consistency?

PSWF should work with all combat styles.

PSWF should work with all combat styles.
So because PTWF and PTHF have bugs allowing them to work with the wrong style, you'd like the devs to add the same bug to PSWF. Yeah they'll do that.

Ran through Precious Cargo. It's an excellent addition to 3BC. I'm impressed by the mechanics in this one.

The good
We get to use the cannons! The console was intuitive. (At first I was surprised it wasn't just a prop. ;) )

There was a lot of change-up. It wasn't about just killing things or repeating the same task endlessly until completion was awarded. The tasks were varied.

Entering that initial area and then going to the ship was a nice touch. It was a good transition into "the moment". Memorable.

We get to repair things when they get broken. Yes! I haven't run through to see if we can also cast the repair spells on things to bring them back up too.

The not so good
Enemy cannons hit sooo hard (this applies to the wilderness areas too.) It only took them about 10 seconds to knock out my cannon console. I think i managed to hit them partially with 2 volleys before it was caput.

Consoles/ballistas are too easy to destroy, too slow to repair, and impossible to protect (afaik). It's great that the repair skill plays into the equation for fixing them back up.

If something on the ship gets completely destroyed it takes a full minute just to get it operational again. It slows the pace down a bit too much.

The cannon aiming cursors kept disappearing on me. Taking the time to fire the cannon is the only way I found to see where I was aiming. Is this WAI? It's a bit ...awkward, especially in the hotter moments.

Enemy ships fire amazingly fast (also a problem in wilderness areas.) Between their fate of fire, accuracy, and damage ...grrr.

Aiming is a bit slow with the cannons. No idea how it could be sped up, but could we get the shot pattern spread out a little bit to compensate? Maybe even spread the shot pattern out in both the horizontal and the vertical directions?

Questions
How many HPs do these ships have?

Is it possible to knock the ships out before we get boarded?

If multiple players stand at the same console do they have their own aiming cursors and Fire timers or can only 1 player shoot at a time?

Do the mobs that attempt to ransack our treasure chests spawn in the Cargo Hold? I didn't see anyone run by me to get in there. It was kinda strange.

Happy to see this quest and finally to see ship to ship fighting. Am hoping to see the cannon aiming mechanic in more quests too. :)

PSWF does mostly work re: the vorpals on 19s and 20s (just tested), but there's a catch.

The weapon must also CRIT on a 19.

i.e. my Ember Sickle (20 x2) lists the feat as being applicable to it, but 19s did not proc any vorpal stuff.

But, the Turbulent Epee (18-20 x2), which also lists the feat as being applicable to it, did proc vorpal stuff on 19s.

I don't know that anyone is ever going to get their sickle on, but it might be relevant for people using Kamas without IC or something.

I didn't run into this, but I always take improved crit.

I noticed vorpals don't always occur on a 19. I was using a nightmare and sometimes it would throw the PK, sometimes it would just neg level the enemy. I noticed it more often failing when I had 45+% attack speed.

Well now that all the quests seem to be working I was excited to see what changed. Most of the quests are still very similar to the heroic ones with just the monsters changing, although there were some tweaks here and there that made it refreshing to play through again. Epic Prove Your Worth made me so glad my main is a rogue type, still died when I went the wrong way down the spike shaft, though Jack Jibbers was kind enough to give me a hand to the nearest rest shrine (love that piece of new loot and will farm it immediately when it hits live-well and when I am back in that level range). The boss fight with the first mate was enjoyable, liked the trade of insults. I had fun getting killed in Epic Storm The Beaches if you weren't careful as I remember dying in heroic elite whenever I stopped respecting the quest. Although there was one point where one enemy was simultaneously controlling 3 of the ballista and just destroying me, not sure if that was working as intended, mainly since I can't control that many at once :p. In Epic 3 Barrel wilderness I couldn't seem to aim the ballista at all, same thing in Precious Cargo, actually almost killed myself when the shot went off and hit the deck :rolleyes:. Someone else said they were able to use it with mouse look, but that didn't seem to work for me. Really liked Precious Cargo, shooting the cannons, boarding an enemy ship, assigning the crew their tasks. The repair time definitely needs to be improved(not sure if it was even caring what my repair skill is), plus the fact that you can't be interrupted or you have to start over was just crazy for the full minute it takes. Also the guns seemed to break really quickly, just spent a minute repairing, maybe 10 secs later it was broke again. Maybe the crew are faster at it, didn't actually try using them in the run through I did for that particular purpose. So really liked the quests, the airships definitely need their own slayer category like the dragons as someone else said. Was anyone able to actually take one of those down without using an uber epic elite build? I mainly play an artificer so ranged was good, but while I was damaging it, it was doing far more damage to me whenever I failed that reflex save, and while I could heal myself quickly, my spell points would have ran out far faster than that ship was going down. The only other issue I had was with guild amenities, that may be because my guild has one of the newer airships, while the hookpoints were there I couldn't seem to buy the amenities as they were all greyed out. Thanks for the chance to try out the stuff before it hits live. Will go post my thoughts on the treasure I tried out and liked in the other thread.

Similarly- Mortal Fear/Wrath of Flames?

Tidied up the formatting. The repair times are reduced as more than 1 person works on the repairs. I don't know if you can assign more than 1 NPC to a station/item to repair, but you can tag with them. Boost them with some spells that buff their skills too.

I am still on the fence regarding saves from airship artillery. I think on one hand it would be fair to have it, however on the other hand, the scale of these things suggests move instead of trying to rely on meta-stats to do the work for you. Same with the red dragons in Fire (raid). At the same time, nothing is as nice as arrowing a dragon while standing in his fireballs taking nothing.

We're still preparing the update. What is on Lamannia right now is not the round 3 update.

When is round 4 of lammania coming? I actually miss Lamannia more than live as there is so little to do at cap aside from tr. I was looking forward to running these new quests but the loot won't benefit a capped toon. :(

Btw when is the next update/expansion that adds content at 28?
