My search-fu is no good today, can't seem to find a reference build for a Dex Based Ranger Tempest. Anyone point me to the basic essentials? That is, what are the needed feats, enhancements, Race, and weapon choices for building a standard Dex Based Tempest?

I can only make a recommendation in that there will be a big loss in burst DPS if you do not add dex to damage with bows as well. This means Elf. Since you need to go up the whole tree for Elven Grace, it would make sense to grab the Dragonmarks as well for the displacement and then use rapiers (Balizarde)/longswords for main weapons.
It makes for a stealthy build too, if you are interested. Depends on lots of things; you could splash 5 rogue for Knife Specialization and use daggers for melee (plus have great UMD) and 2-3 Pally for saves?

Are you looking for pure rgr, or did you have something else in mind?

I'm kinda hooked on trapmonkey styles. He's looking like he'll turn out pretty similar to my Human 18rgr/1ftr/1rog, 'cept Elf. Precision instead of PA, more Racial and AA than Temp, won't need khop, going Rapiers instead... He's fairly well roughed in now. I'da gone with one of the 12/6/2 builds, but I just figured I'd stick with what I know... sorta.

The Elf race gives nice hit/damage bonus (Longsword/rapier/Longbow or Scimitar) and extra Dexterity bonuses.
Some feats: GTWF (If not going 11 Ranger), OTWF, Improved Critical (Slash), Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack and maybe Resilience, Power Attack or Precision, and 2 Weapon Defense if you like.
2 or more levels of Fighter or Pally blend in well with a Ranger Tempest.
Not sure how anyone gets by with just 1 level of Rogue. I usually take at least 4 Rogue levels on a splash.
Khopesh and Scimitar provide most DPS or so I have been told, but I get by fine with Long swords, especially after getting my GS at level 12. (Although I got most of my swords before the devs screwed up the loot system)
Multi-classing requires the right combo of gear so you can switch easily as needed without making yourself vulnerable. You don't want to take off a resistance item to disable a trap or remove fortification to sneak through a mob.
Not sure best way to max out bow skills since I never put my swords away long enough to matter. Kiting is for posers.
