Can you upgrade "historic" items

Hi all,

Back after over a year away, and looking at my bank (man...I kept a lot of ****!).

I have the old version of the Helm of the Blue Dragon and Dynastc Falcata (for example).

Is there any way to "convert" these to the new version(s)?

Unfortunately no. Before the release of eGH, I farmed up some items I thought would be awesome, hoping the change was retroactive. It was not :(

I believe you can upgrade EXCLUSIVE items that have changed in the epic altar. Might just be for epic items though. I know that I had to use the Fountain of Necrotic Might to update my Litany.

I've fixed a few random things by putting them in the Altar of Change with a handful of shards...Siberys ones I think. Like I think I had an old Epic Ring of the Stalker or something that wouldn't accept augments, and after I ran it through there it was fixed.

Yeah, there are a few specific things with recipes to fix them. All the old Reaver's Fate loot, for example. And some of the Cannith challenge stuff. (Any old sub-epic Cannith Challenge item can have its Minimum Level fixed -- from, e.g., 16 to 15 -- by disjuncting it in a crafting hall.)

Most stuff, though, no.

You can upgrade pre-U17 epic items (http://ddowiki.com/page/Augment_Slot#Old_Epic_Augments) to add the new augment slots. I don't think you can "convert" old heroic items into their new (BtCoE) counterparts; same goes for the new Gianthold gear.

Thanks all. Just threw one of the Khopeshes into the SoC, but now joy. As expected. Will try the helm later, but not expecting much.

I too have come back to DDO after a lengthy hiatus...6 or so years to be exact. Trying to get the hang of all the changes.

I have the same type of issue where my toon has Serpentbranch (http://i.imgur.com/w5Inqed.jpg) from Delera's, but it's pre-augment days and it different than what is available now which is New Serpentbranch (http://ddowiki.com/images/Serpentbranch.jpg)

Doubtful there's anything that can be done about it as I'm just a legacy Premium account and Delera's is now paid content.
