Lately I've been seeing invisible walls cropping up in the damndest places and I can't help but to wonder why.
So far the following locations seem to be affected :
1. The Shipwrecked Spy - If you stand on the ship at the top of the bow gangplank you can no longer shoot at the Warpriests coming from the North.
2. Let Sleeping Dust Lie - The rock pile has been well documented in the forums lately.
3. Shroud - When Arretreikos flies in part 4 you can no longer shoot at him with ranged weapons and his firebombs explode harmlessly against the invisible wall (Which is really stupid if you think about it.)
I know there are one or two other places which slip my mind at the moment. (Maybe someone else has seen them and can help with this list?) It's really annoying to be shooting at an opponent you can see only to see your arrows embed themselves into thin air. Or to try to jump somewhere that you look like you should be able to only to hit an invisible wall. We really need less of these cheap tactics please Turbine.

Because they wish they were making levels for Call of Duty instead?

1. never heard or seen anyone doing that. could be just a regular invisible wall? doesn't sound like a perch spot, but im having trouble picturing this exact position.
2. unintended shortcut that went on for so long that it is even included on the wiki last I checked last week.
3. im pretty sure that's more for the spice and something cool to look at than to be intended to attack him. its a better explanation than how it was before when he just totally disappeared.
they put a wall up in a certain trappy GH quest, but still didn't fix the shortcut. usually takes a few years for walls to be put up, but we always find new shortcuts and perch spots.

I think the first underline explains itself. ;)
As for why.. maybe Turbine doesn't want you in those "damnd places" to begin with? You are supposed to be playing a hero.
Or maybe Turbine created a new special, damned, for players like you? I don't know.

New theory: Turbine is testing the mechanics of the arcane spell 'Wall of Force'. Once the bugs are worked out, the slightly more interesting 'Wall of Stone' and 'Wall of Iron' spells to come later.

Really simple, the game is in such a good state at the moment, where there is nothing left to fix, so they need to break a few things otherwise they might get bored.
I skip presenting my opinion on the concept of "invisible walls", in short it is ..just...ugly.

They put up an invisible wall in House J, making it impossible to get into the green fields

The recent influx of invisible walls is is a proactive move on Turbine's part to prep the game for the next new class: Mime. I'm told one enhancement tree is ready (tentatively called "Blue Man"), whose signature SLAs include a powerful Illusion spell, "Stuck in a Box" (enemies must make a Will save or they will not even bother attacking the powerful shield that is obviously protecting the mime) and "Crocodile Tears" (enemies must make a Fortitude save or they will fall to their knees in shame for giving those poor adventurers sadfaces).
