Greetings,
I was just hoping to get some new details about the next update.
What do we know?
Guildships are getting some changes...what are they?
Epic Three Barrel Cove is coming....are there any new quests associated with this? Are the epic versions going to be any different than the heroic versions (in layout, objectives, content)? And can something cool happen when the most confusing/difficult puzzle in the game is solved?
That is all

Agreed with above, too early.
Hopefully a single "get all buffs" ship buff. I believe this was mentioned on a DDOcast by one of the devs.
I doubt we're getting new quests, just epic 3BC. Haven't heard anything about new pack next update. I doubt the quests will be much different, if they are I haven't heard anything.

Iirc, there's supposed to be a raid added to epic 3BC. I imagine the rest of the quests will be the same. Basically like they did to Gianthold.

Still hoping we get the kraken raid, but as it was mentioned by other forumites and no dev I think it will stay to the dream version I dreamt lol :
/dream (spoiler lol)
\What I dreamt In short -> you have to deliver a package to koire'vaire to aid in the war against droaam.
Setting: airship, ambushed by Pirates .. ohoh !, optional to shoot a couple ships from the air before they enter yours.
2 ships will come alongside.
First fight take place on 3 ships with lots of pirates pouring out of the 2 ships towards yours stuck in the middle..... fight ... fight ...fight. ... then Boom !! something is wrong ! the ships are going down
Setting 2: airships are now floating in the ocean, crashed together to make one platform surrounded buy debris.
Second fight, A Kraken has been disturbed by the fighting above and as it rises to the surface it senses "A powerfull object" so it attacks ! together with some shuagin trash who worship the kraken. this fight will be much like the Citw fight but here you fight the tentacles and the head of the kraken. the head keeps "diving" at certain intervals and pops back in different locations around the floating shipsdecks. During this fight the platform will keep breaking apart so there will be less and less. At the end of the fight (kraken at xx% or after x time) the kraken has broken apart the ships enough to grab the "package" and dive into the deeps !
Final part, somehow the captain (yeah the piker !) is still alive and somehow also a mighty caster ... he will scry for help and cast a spell to make you able to fight underwater (into the deeps anyone ?) you will have to dive down, follow the kraken to its lair and retrieve the package.
End Fight: Fight the kraken in his lair with advanced underwater fighting (like into the deep) and some shuagin trash of course.

We're actually working on a dev diary that will provide some cool insight into what'll be coming in Update 22. It's not yet ready, though, and we've got PAX East and such this weekend (in addition to our regular work), so it might be a little while before the diary sees the light of day.
I can say, however, that yes - there will be a "get all buffs" button. :)

If ships are getting updated I'd recommend giving all ships a bank for free, place it somewhere out of reach of large hookpoints.
You win, and we all get a free crew point to use on something else.

Nice! I'm guessing artificers and druids will still need to take their pets to the shrines and buff them, or can the button work for them too?

I only really, REALLY hope that on the ammenities revamp, you guys stop making us decide between buffs (+stats, Resist Energy, XP shrines) and ammenities (bank, mail, auctioner, shroud altars, etc). Keep them separeted.
Ah, and make more buff than even the top guilds have slots to bind. The more options we have, it is less probable that every guild ship end up being the same thing, except by positioning.

There's a "Wet Paint Cabin" being added to all airships for all people who want to find out if they would really rather watch paint dry. You get in for free. It costs Astral Shards to get back out before the paint is properly dry though.

Some people don't want resists as they make so much low level content trivial or something like the DDO hunger games where the rules prohibit them.

New to the DDO store: guild ship beacons now offer a dialog box that allows you acquire all your guild's buffs while in a quest (30 min duration).
All I have to say is that if something like the above were to happen a lot of people would be upset. Redoing the way amenities work is great and there could be so many way to improve them, but also there are many ways that could ruin the implementation. Avoid options that smell like P2W though and I think we will all get along.

as i said before getting the buffs with one button is great, But I think there also needs to be a replenish all crew points with one button too, a function that would tally up the cost of all the crew points for max "rental time" and let the all be renewed with a click!

Nah they wouldn't do that! It's gonna be a moderate amount of AS or an insane amount of Platinum/Insane combination of collectables :P.
Seriously though, i expect it to be monetized, i just hope it's in a optional convenience way that doesn't feel mandatory

It is bad enough that we have to use Cashtral Shards to buy the bigger airships so if any of the new amenities (I think we are getting new ones?) or anything else involves these stupid Cashtral Shards then it is frankly beyond stupid. I will keep my fingers crossed that they don't but considering their track record so far it's not looking good.

No Astral shards option please (at least it shouldn't be forced and it shouldn't be the default option).
If there will be "all ship buffs" button then what's the point to have a large ship? Small ships would be much faster for that.
And what was wrong with old ship buffs? It doesn't take much time to take buffs and it's kinda fun to do it (to me at least), also fun to see artificer dog getting ship buffs.

Small ships don't have the same number of buff slots I believe.
The big problem with current ship buffs is it is a huge time sink. This "all in one" button will reduce that. It's a huge improvement. It essentially will save everyone an extra minute or two every hour. That means an extra ~2-3% extra questing time for all. It will add up to a big difference over time. I'm so happy about this change, big big props to the devs for working to reduce the timesink.
The next step would be to make it so ship buffs don't tick away in public areas...any word on a future change concerning that devs?

Small ships don't have the same number of buff slots I believe.
Let's say your guild is high lvl and you already have largest ship.
Then you would like to save extra 5 secs getting all buffs in small ship.
Of course, it depends on where that button will be placed, but on large ship you'll still have to run from entrance to exit (on small ships you can do that faster).

It's not a problem to me, but sure, I'd gladly use that button, but it's such a minor thing. I mean Devs time should be spent on some WAY more useful things like additional BtC bank space (two of my main toons are overgeared and collecting dust now, still waiting for more bank space options, for 2 years already).
The next step would be to make it so ship buffs don't tick away in public areas...any word on a future change concerning that devs?
With this one I totally agree. This would be much better solution than 1 button IMHO.
Actually ship buffs should last until death.

I think you are misunderstanding the way the button will operate. It will not give you all ship buffs that exist in DDO - just the ones on your ship. So you are right - it might be quicker to hit the button and get off a small ship - but it will provide less buffs than one that is on a large ship (assuming both have filled all the available buff hook points).

If you look at the track record of the updates that come out. It seems they do a big update with new content. Then a smaller update with the addition on only 1 or 2 quests and a sort of "update" to older content.
So given we had Haunted halls, new explorer area, and 2 new raids. I would suspect the 3BC update at best would have one new quest or raid. And the rest of the quests, wilderness area updated to epic. Just like they did with Gainthold.

This is my guess as well. They re-designed the entire 3BC map once in the past many years ago. Waste of time then, waste of time now. Toss in a raid with more crafting or s/s/s/item system and there you have it - Epic Three Barrel Cove.
Would have been much better to abandon ship and roll out a Waterdeep, Icewind Dale, or one of the thousands of other locations in the Realms. It would have been awesome to see a Stormreach sized module using Waterdeep as a template city. Laying out the city opens the door up for years of expansions, and provides DDO a chance to let players level up into Epic content in a different city than Stormreach/Korthos which is extremely old hat. Giving us an entire city to explore and gradually roll out quests both small and large in scale of the next few years would be a much better investment than to keep reinventing the wheel over and over and over again.

Might have been better, but then we would likely only see one update this year.
Personally I would prefer more playable content which I suspect is what they are trying to leverage.
Given that they do a large update with new content then smaller update updating old content, they don't have to have the whole dev team on the smaller update and spend more actual time on the larger update.
It's the low hanging fruit that allows them to create more updates with ultimately more content. What you are talking about would keep them from having any other updates.
And frankly why do they even need to add another city to branch off from, they already have two in the game. There is so much more that can be expanded on both eveningstar or stormreach it is ridiculous.
Though personally I would love to see a new lvl 1-4 area, so we don't ahve to run korthos and the harbor anymore.

Please make a new tab in Adventure Compendium to track Sagas.
The current "waste time to run who the hell knows where the stpd NPC for this Saga is and talk to him" method is terrible.
And maybe fix the "after opening a bag can't zoom anymore untill client restart" bug. Is really annoying.

I posted in the Suggestions sub-forum that Waterdeep should be the next major expansion in 2015. A subsequent Update could be allowing players to start in a nearby small Forgotten Realms city as new level 1 characters instead of always starting in Korthos. I agree that adding a major city to the Forgiotten Realms could be the framework to build out new content over the next few years.

Would have been much better to abandon ship and roll out a Waterdeep, Icewind Dale, or one of the thousands of other locations in the Realms.
The Sword Coast seems to be a big no-no.
Hasbro seems to want to put a clear separation between the two MMO they have about D&D.

Can we get a way to exclude certain buffs from this button?
Some people don't want resists as they make so much low level content trivial or something like the DDO hunger games where the rules prohibit them.
From what I saw when they previewed it in that video, yes, there are check boxes so you can choose which buffs to get and which ones not to get.

I'm not sure about this, as DDO expanded into the Forgotten Realms around the same time that Neverwinter Online started. If DDO covered the same FR areas that Neverwinter is developing, this may attract Neverwinter Online players to DDO.

its a f2p (read p2w) game. the button will have to be monetized.

Exactly and that is why it is not going to happen.

Instead of "get all button" you should add perm buffs that vanish at death ( so no timer ) that would be awsome :) there is more and more quest 1h+ to be done
sorry for my english

Sorry. I tried to find it again but wasn't able to and can't recall exactly which one it was.
But if I remember correctly, Cordovan was talking about a number of different subjects in the video and at one point he was on an airship and mentioned (and showed) the "Get all buffs" button that would be coming but I think it was only about 5 or 10 seconds (or less) of the entire video and the get all buffs box was probably on-screen only two or three seconds.

Can we please get rid of the Airship amenities upkeep? That's the only thing preventing me from keeping my personal ship stocked. It's kind of just an unnecessary hassle.

Greetings,
I was just hoping to get some new details about the next update.
That is all
DDO Wiki mentions pirate related changes... does this mean crystal cove can be permanent, or even just updated? That would be awesome!

Can't check the Lamannia forums?
Basically:
Ships get a ton of new amenities. They last longer based on guild level (up to 4 hours @ guild level 150-200), their bonuses are based on that as well. They are guild type bonuses, so they stack with everything. They persist through death, pause everywhere except wilderness and quests and stay through death.
A new Bard Pre is coming called swashbuckler. It also brings a single weapon fighting feat line. The feats offer attack speed bonuses and double stat to damage. A perfect epic version offers vorpal effects procced off 19 or 20 instead of just 20.
Epic three barrel cove has airships as a rare mob. They drop pirates off zip lines and wilderness ballista's can be utilized to shoot them down, as well as boarding them. They are very tough right now. The quests are revamps of the old, with interesting twists tot hem. The final quest involves airship to airship combat.
I would expect a mid to late june drop to live.
