Other video games that have a D&D feel?

Specifically I'm looking for games similar to the Baldurs Gate/Neverwinter Nights series. Something party based and with a nice variety of classes.

Preferably looking for games that aren't super old. I'm wondering if maybe there are some newer indie games I haven't heard of, or just something that I completely missed awhile back somehow.

I've played Baldur's Gate 1/2, Neverwinter Nights 1/2, Icewind Dale 1/2, Planescape Torment, Temple of Elemental Evil, Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Neverwinter Online, Star Wars KOTOR 1/2, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series, Arcanum and all the Wizardry and Might and Magic games.

I recently finished the expansion for Shadowrun Returns and enjoyed it quite a bit. (I think the expansion was better than the base game and may even be longer depending on your play style)

It has several different "Classes" but they are more like guidelines you can spend your ability points in which ever skill sets you want. (But you will be better off generally picking a couple skills to specialize in rather than spreading points all over the place.)

Have you played the expansions to Neverwinter Nights 2? They're like totally different games. MOTB is one of the best pure roleplaying games ever in my opinion -- awesome dialog and story, incredibly reactive to player choice and character skills, exceptionally replayable. SoZ is a different thing entirely -- the story is just a light framework for the combat, but you create a full party and the combat is quite satisfying.

Did you play the new Might and Magic game? One just came out a couple of months ago. I haven't played it yet, but it sounds pretty good.

How about the various Realms of Arkania based games? Drakensang is not super old -- pretty comparable to Neverwinter Nights 2. The system is different from D&D, but it's similar enough to feel familiar.

Erm . . . Divine Divinity? That one's getting a bit older, and the character system is a bit simple, but it's got a nice story and is quite fun.

I remember playing the Sega Genesis Shadowrun game over and over and over and loving it, then being completely disappointed with the SNES one. These games are on my radar, I was just hoping for a more medieval fantasy setting.

Yeah I played all the NWN 1/2 expansions. I love those games. MotB is one of my alltime favorites. I haven't played the New M&M game, I read a review somewhere that really turned me off of it (I think it said the game was super linear and not really open world like the older ones in the series), plus I'm more in the mood for a 3rd person perspective game at the moment. I'm looking into Drakensang, that might be exactly what I need. I'm actually almost done with Divinity II: Developer's Cut at the moment, having a lot of fun with it but was hoping for more of an Elder Scrolls experience.

Runes of Magic is pretty close to a d&d feel. Sort of a mix of Neverwinter and DDO, imo.

Well, you've covered all the obvious bases, so let's see what else there is...

I'll second the recommendations for the Drakensang games, which are based on a German PnP RPG called "The Dark Eye" (Das Schwarze Auge). There have been three in the last few years: Drakensang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakensang:_The_Dark_Eye), the sequel River of Time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakensang:_The_River_of_Time), and Blade of Destiny (http://www.schicksalsklinge.com/en/), which is actually a remake of the first Dark Eye CRPG which came out in `92. The first two play a lot like NWN2: i.e., 3D, party-based, pauseable real-time combat, etc. I thought RoT was better than the first one. BoD is more old-school: turn-based combat. If you wanna go really old-school, you can find the original Dark Eye CRPG trilogy (released as the "Realms of Arkania" series in the U.S.) at GOG (1&2 (http://www.gog.com/game/realms_of_arkania_1_2), three (http://www.gog.com/game/realms_of_arkania_3)).

There's also Drakensang Online (http://www.drakensang.com/), but I've never played it, so no idea if it's any good.

Speaking of old-school CRPGs, Spiderweb Software (http://spiderwebsoftware.com/) is worth checking out. The graphics are...oh, let's be charitable and go with "retro." :) But the game design is pretty solid; it's basically just Jeff Vogel and his wife, plugging away at these games for the last 20(?!) years. Avadon is his most recent series, so it's a good jumping-on point.
