AE Sunbolt - why does it not crit?

it just does a steady 850 - 900 damage on my toon without any crits. My avenging light crits a lot!

Anyone else tested this?

I hadn't noticed that yet, but I'll believe you.

I wonder if it's related to the whole "it's not really the same as the spell it's named after" thing, same as with Soundburst SLA, where they use a funky formula for DC, but don't get any of the normal DC-boosting effects.

You have a universal Spell Lore item, or just a Radiance Lore item?
