Hey guys,
I'm currently still in 'create a character' and am stumped.
I want to build a Drow Assassin, but don't know where to start!
I'm really new, so my knowledge the end-game is non-existent so far.
I intend on going 20 rogue, then splitting it up.
1) What starting stats should I choose?
this is what i have
-14 str
-16 dex
-14 con
-16 int
maxed these
-balance
-concentration
-diplomacy
-hide
-move silently
-jump
-spot
-search
-open lock
-disable device
-tumble
-use magic device
2) Am I better off as a str rogue with Khopesh, or as a dex drow with their racial weapon bonuses?
3)which feats should I choose? These ones seem to be the common ones.
-weapon finesse
-two weapon fighting
-precision
-improved two weapon fighting
-improved critical piercing
-greater two-weapon fighting
-toughness
4) which enhancements are a must-have? Could you please provide a 'rough' order?
Thanks a dozen guys! I always look forward to dealing with the community I'm playing with.
Some of these things are tough to just 'wiki' and find a straight answer....
Much appreciated in advance.

Here is a link to an excellent build and discussion about assassins.

1) What starting stats should I choose?
this is what i have
-14 str
-16 dex
-14 con
-16 int
On a first life drow, I'd go:
Str 8
Dex 17
Con 14
Int 18
Wis 8
Cha 10
Reasons why can be found below.
maxed these
-balance
-concentration
-diplomacy
-hide
-move silently
-jump
-spot
-search
-open lock
-disable device
-tumble
-use magic device
These are fine.
2) Am I better off as a str rogue with Khopesh, or as a dex drow with their racial weapon bonuses?
Str based rogues are not optimal in the current state of the game. If you want to focus on your instakill ability, then you will want to go int based. However, you want to reach 21 dex (using only starting dex, tomes, and level ups) to qualify for improved sneak attack (an epic feat). So depending on the dex tome you have available, if any, put only enough level up points into dex to reach 21. Put the rest into int. if you don't have a dex tome at all, I might start with 18 dex and 13 con instead.
Regarding weapon choice, knife specialization (a tier 5 enhancement in the assassin tree) gives daggers/kukris a 15-20x3 crit profile, making them the optimal dps weapon for an assassin. So take knife specialization and use daggers (kukris have few named or lootgen options at all, so daggers are better overall).
3)which feats should I choose? These ones seem to be the common ones.
-weapon finesse
-two weapon fighting
-precision
-improved two weapon fighting
-improved critical piercing
-greater two-weapon fighting
-toughness
Add improved sneak attack as an epic feat.
4) which enhancements are a must-have? Could you please provide a 'rough' order?
Have a look at Hassan's Assassin in my sig for a full build breakdown. You'll find feats, stats, enhancements, gear, ED info, etc., as well as suggestions for modifying it to a drow. It is designed for endgame and heavily dependent on tomes so it may or may not fit your goals and resources, but a lot of the info you are looking for will be the same regardless (i.e. enhancements, most feats).
Hope that helps.

Maybe next time don't post in the middle of the night and expect a response within 90 minutes.
-14 str
When it comes to STR on rogues, my attitude is either: (A) dump it and just use Precision w/Dagger in the Back to focus on DEX & INT; (B) take just enough STR to add Power Atk while still focusing on DEX & INT; or (C) go full-on STR-based rogue. So, depending on how you look at things, STR 14 is either too high (more than you need for A or B) or too low (not enough for C), IMHO.
2) Am I better off as a str rogue with Khopesh, or as a dex drow with their racial weapon bonuses?
Neither: in the long run daggers or kukris w/Knife Spec will win out. EDIT: pre-U21 I would've said a pair of Agonies (http://ddowiki.com/page/Agony,_the_Knife_in_the_Dark) was the way to go, or maybe Agony+eMG (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Epic_Midnight_Greetings) (for +2 Assassinate DCs); but with Thunder-forged weapons, I'd say a pair of TF daggers or kukris (w/Dark Diversion (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Dark_Diversion) for +4 Assassinate DCs) is the way to go. But for heroic / low epic leveling, I think there are more good named daggers than kukris, so IC:Pierce is the right call.
-weapon finesse
Knife in the Dark applies DEX to to-hit with daggers & kukris; so you only need Finesse if (A) you plan to use other light weapons and (B) you find yourself having trouble hitting things.
-toughness
Toughness isn't the must-have it used to be; it's only worth 30 HPs at lvl 28 and HP inflation thru gear etc. has gotten kinda ridiculous.
See my Mechassin for another example of drow rogue, this one mixed with Mechanic as well.
