View Full Version : Thunderholme Explorer needs a warning

I joined a group that had progressed all the way down to the Emissary fight. Since I already had the flag I used the Guide outside Thunderholme and ported into the area where emissary spawns. I had to wait a few minutes for them to work their way down the stairs. We then proceeded to clear trash around the perimeter and closed in on the boss area. Her chest was there but we searched high and low and never found her. It was surmised that having a party member port into the final fight area may have bugged the boss. I inadvertently borked an hour of clearing to the boss performed by the other party members.

Some sort of warning with guide would be nice.

Yep, learned that the hard way on lamma, bad it's still this way on live.
Flagging groups and already flagged people should always use seperate instances as of now, since one flagged person teleporting there can screw up the flagging group.

Anyway when flagging try not to go with more people then neccessary. The lag due to scaling there is horrible.

This reminds me of the old old bug that used to exist in Tangleroot.
Party members who'd enter the zone thru the tavern door would wind up in a separate instance from those who entered thru the NPC porter.

Not the exact same thing, but smells like it could be from the same school of fish.

When you port into one of the instances after being flagged, yeah there are no mobs, but there seems to be a countdown and then they spawn. Usually that first couple of minutes is great for finding explorers without having to worry bout the mobs. But I've still seen the red names spawn.

This is not a bug. It would be too easy to farm the chest if you could teleport directly to her.

A party that is already enroute to the fight that has a late party member join and port to the end which causes the boss not to appear ultimatly screws the whole party and their progress is not a bug?

To me that is still a bug, perhaps a poorly implemented intentional mechanic, but still a bug....

A barrier should prevent you from going backwards from the direct port, not the current mechanic that screws a party who has worked their way down and cant activate her because some late comer intentionaly or mistakenly ported directly next to her spawn point which causes her not to spawn.

Temporary fix could be LFM with "flagging do not teleport until
told safe." But then people might not read the message and teleport anyway. Recall/reset and send in 1 person
