Just wondering what numbers are decent.

And by numbers, I mean your first number that pops up when doing damage, not the extra numbers. (Elemental, good, holy, etc.).

Example, if im unbuffed with clickies, no boat buffs, nothing but me and my gear, and im hitting the training dummy for 150-200, non crit first number, is that avg? Low? High?

Just wondering what pure monks can achieve.

Fully buffed, with all my boosts and clickies (rage, ms rage, dmg boost, boat buffs, etc etc), im smashing the dummy, with numbers between 250 and 300 non crits. (Is that decent?)

Im on my 3rd monk life, with 1 ETR as well, no other past lives.

What type of damage can you achieve with handwraps? And how did you build your monk to achieve said damage?

I'm always trying to make my monk better, he he he

Stop hitting helpless training dummies.

Exactly the well thought out, intelligent input I was looking for.

-1 rep to you sir.

Guess there are no other pure monks left.

Check poster's location. You can't neg rep someone outside the box. Also, please leave that poor training dummy alone.

The first question that comes too mind: are you sure about those numbers? They seem a bit high to me. Im a lvl 27 pure light monk. I assume the training dummy was helpless. Can you give me a breakdown of your damage? I hit the dummy for around 60-70 per punch (physical damage only). When it is helpless I hit for 80% more. So that would be around 110-130. I have to say my strength is around 26-28 when buffed. Instead I have wisdom maxed for a stunning fist DC of 72 when buffed. Also I gotta say my monk is not finished yet. I still need some better gear.

When i get a chance... I check the combat logs and put a damage breakdown on this thread.

1 AM here now, already logged out of game.

I know it's NOT helpless. No stuns, just walk up and start punching it. Unbuffed 150-200's and maxed buffed out as much as i can (rage, madstone, titans grip clicky, all the other boosts i can do), and the numbers go to 250-300.

Need to check combat logs and get back to ya.

I will say fully buffed my str is around 54, unbuffed i think it's 38. wisdom in the mid 40's i think.. SF DC 60

lvl 28 Monk/Drow, unbuffed hitting dummy between 113 - 147 non crit.

STR only 30 and 2 monk PL...if that helps with a comparison.

Of course it isn't helpless from a stun, its a construct; you can't stun it. It does however take +50% damage when it respawns, which you need to account for in any quotation of numbers against it to have a useful value. You can tell that easily by picking up a pair of smiters. If they're doing 150 when smiting goes off, then it is respawn-helpless-+50% damage taken.

Big numbers on the dummy aren't really a big deal. It doesn't fight back so you can make all sorts of sacrifices in gear/buffs/build that would never fly against real NPCs.

Punching poor defenseless dummy... shame on you.
