Greetings All,

Fairly new to druids. But I am trying out a caster druid and having lot's of fun with it.

Wondering which is the most effective Epic Destiny to be in. I see a lot of Druid builds that do go with Primal and it seems to be the Druid destiny.

What are the main advantages of that? I do not forsee being in wolf or bear form much at all.

The other thought that I was thinking was to be in Shiradi. With all the SLA's and call lightning Storm of Vengence and such it seems like shiradi would work well. I do have arcane initiate as a feat, so I also have a MM SLA though only 10 per shrine does not seem like much.

What is everyone thoughts and experience?

Currently have level 2 druids through both primal and shiradi(simultaneously)

My experience is that shiradi is a lot more fun, and actually can be a lot more DPS/CC- nerve venom+earthquake+ice storm+body of fire=never gonna hit you. However, keep in mind that all the DPS and CC gains of shiradi are a roll of the dice. Sometimes they'll be there, sometimes they won't. Primal provides a consistent dps boost, as well as making my pet survivable enough for most content. It's also fun to run around with 2-3 hirelings, a wolf, and a dryad.

so basically, what it comes down to is this:
shiradi is a great ED, but it might not pull through when you need it to. It's also a pain to level since all the power is at the top half of the destiny.

Primal is a good ED with lots of damage boosts, CC, and makes pets/hires viable. It has less damage, but is more consistent. And once you get the hang of tsunami, you can really boost your dps.(2-6k damage per mob hit, travels in a zig-zag line, projectile appears to be the size of the lantern archon from the kobold island challenge)

I have my destinies already maxed out (well all but like 2 and they are level 4), so no worries there.
So Shiradi procs on earthquake? Or are you just talking the CC effect from Earthquake in general?

What kind of options you recommend for Primal for a caster? I have not really used the wolf, but going pure this life, it seems that it might be somewhat of an option to run. Never really run in this destiny other than some time ago as a rogue to level the destiny up.

My view is Shiradi is better for a pure DPS caster, while Avatar is more useful if you've got a melee / caster hybrid.

Shiradi should proc with every DPS spell inc. Earthquake, but it's inconsistent: some spells like Ice Storm can only have procs on the initial tic; while others such as Body of the Sun can proc on each tic.

Shiradi is nice with all its damage and paralyzing effects etc, but keep in mind it is dependent on producing multiple procs spreading SP over long periods of time. Look at the spells available to you and see that you are using spells that have multiple hits.

However, might I also recommend Draconic. Going Ice or Fire depending on the Elemental form of preference you can gain an increase in your Spell Power for your element of choice, have an AoE burst attack and an additional Aura as well as an added Breath Attack and Flyby (knockdown) ability.

shiradi if you prefer fire elemental form and use earthquake + body of the sun that both proc on each tic.

draconic if you prefer water elemental form and use creeping cold, icestorm, energy burst, energy vortex and maybe dragon breath, raise good intelligence for their dc, you have 20 druid levels, and possibly 3 piecese of the abishai set to give +3 levels to energy burst and enegy vortex, and a twilight or an alchemical weapon to give them further +2 levels
