I have just returned to DDO and as title says i haven't played since 2010.
I notice that a lot have changed since then. Having my enhancements reset is not really any major problem. But what confuse me are the changes to skills. It seems that the amount of skill points you get per level has increased when i browse through various builds.
When i compare my old DDO Chargen v 3.8 (or something like that) a fresh made human cleric has 8 skill points to distribute, but now there are 20 points. For each level there where 2 skill points to spend, but now there are 5 skill points per level.
My character where level 14, but had enough xp to advance to level 15, but when i went to a cleric trainer i only had 2 skill points to spend.
Is there some in game way to fix that and get my hands on all those missing skill points or am i forced to buy a lesser/greater reincarnation so i can redo the character from scratch?
EDIT: Ignore the above, was me being a noob and forgotten that Intelligence affects the amount of skillpoints

BTW, one of the big changes for casters with the U19 overhaul is that various skills now directly boost your Spellpower: Heal boosts Pos & Neg spells; Perform boosts Sonic; Repair boosts Repair & Rust; Spellcraft (new skill) boosts everything else. So as a cleric you'll want at least Heal and most likely Spellcraft. Bear that in mind when it comes time to LR your char.

When they made all the skill changes, they gave out hearts of wood so you can respec. This way you can get those points into the skills you need in order to maintain supremacy in the role you fill.

Lots of build advice on here.
Min Maxing your heroic build is not as important or as powerful as Epic Destinies. Especially if you are a Cleric. Meeting the pre req for the EDs is important along with the twists from other EDs.
Read up on DDO Epic Destinies. That is where the power is along with the feat requirements.
Epic and Heroic XP is easier now with XP resetting of quests 18 hours if run twice and around 2 days if you ransack more than twice a day. Every 18 hours I think you get 50% taken off the ransack penalty. -20%, -40%, -60%, each run that day, and -80% for every run after that each day.
Quests like Jungle of Kyber. Impossible Demands, House of Rusted Blades, and other fast XP quests like House K VON series.
There has been a little too much power creep and now a lot of named gear has an auction house equivalent or close to it in min lvl.
Spell Power is different now. Clickies for it are different too, and most are not worth the effort.
Saving Throws seem the most important for Epic Elite content. (Synergy with CHR and PAL2 for saves helps.) Lots of ways to twist saving throws. Unearthly Reactions from Draconic for Reflex. Unyielding Sentinel for survivability.

The major thing you'll have to re-learn are the enhancements. They've been changed completely. You'll generally want T5 radiant servant tree for aura and then dabble in the other trees depending if you want to melee or offensive cast when you aren't healing.
Min/maxing a cleric is not as important as other classes. As long as you can heal (take empower heal and maximize and have 17 cleric levels) and kill at least a few monsters per quest almost any party will be happy to have you.
Welcome back.

The question then would be where you get those hearts of wood for respec? If it was mailed out to each character then it's long gone.
I did look up some builds and have noticed that Heal is more functional and important that it used to be, and also the addition of spellcraft. To get those i will have to respec the character completely to get more Int just to get more skill points to put in them.
So far i haven't gotten around to respecing yet. Made a new cleric instead just to get a feel of the game again. DDO is a bit more complex compared to many other similar games and after 4 years you forget alot.
But thank you all for advices.

They should show up automatically in your inventory the first time you log into your old characters.
