Need Help!!!!

I'm planning on doing a ranger life for my 8'th life. I just dont know how i wan to do the lvl system on the ranger so i can make sure i get the past life of a ranger. I was thinking about going 12 ranger 4 monk 4 fighter maybe? I need help please let me know what you think. I want to be an AA ranger also i want to be able to fight when i need to.
