View Full Version : My 2 cents for the upcoming guild improvements...

I'll make my suggestions short and sweet:

The Guild Vendor shops should be more organized. I believe that it would be appropriate for them to be placed in some sort of building, where they can be easily accessed by the stormreach teleporter system or by using the teleport spells. This can also allow for more guild shops to open in the future.

I would like to see more 'useful' items in the various guild stores purchasable with platinum. Examples include high level (7-9) arcane and divine scrolls, various item augment slots, minor guild renown elixirs, epic level hirelings, hirelings in rogue, monk, druid, ranger and artificer classes, guild airship decorations, guild airship portals and more! Basically, any item that, if implemented in game, had a rarity scale, would be in the range from common to uncommon should be implemented in the guild stores at a discounted price. I highly encourage these items to be spread out at mid levels to help close in the no-reward guild levels.

The return of guild augments would be nice. The best way I can see it being reintroduced is to simply mix whatever item you wish to augment with the appropriate augment gem as well as khyber dragonshard fragments in a stone of change and it will be rendered BtG (Bound to Guild). Basically, it functions as bound to character if your not in a guild, except that you may trade it to other members of the guild and store it in the guild chest as well. If you change guilds, you will still be able to do the aforementioned to these items.

More different types of ships, not all of which can be purchased by astral shards (Directly or indirectly) or even platinum! If anything, you could just make different types of ships and put them in a 'miscellaneous' category; they can be considered ships made of many different designs from many different minds. They should be useful as well, having their own strengths and weaknesses.

The ability to create up to 5 or so additional guild ranks and set access privileges for them. Privileges that can be changed may include who can board the guild ship, who can use guild airship amenities, who can add and/or change airship amenities, who can use guild chests, whether or not a certain rank can promote/demote members up to or one level below its current rank, who can remove members, who can send guild invites, who can change the privileges, and so on. A NPC in the guild airship room can handle these settings. I realize that the guild ranks thing might not happen, but I thought id put it out despite past problems.

FR-exclusive guild benefits. I can't think of any 'useful' ones sadly but it would be nice if your guild level benefits could extend to the Forgotten Realms other than the airship access by the cavern portal.

That's all I got. Your thoughts?

I listened to Producer Rowan on the DDOCast last night and he indicated that there would be entirely new ship designed based on themes, like a Pirate Ship. I hope they keep expanding the number of available airships so there is some variety. Another possible design I would like to see is something overtly steampunk, made of tin and with a 19th century look.

Bound to Guild items would just give people an incentive to raid the guild chest before leaving for another guild.

I'd like to see the implementation of a "guild treasury" for ingredients and platinum where the guild leader can set exchange rates for various ingredients and guild members can either choose to donate stuff or, if they need stuff, get it for the rate posted by the guild leader. So, for instance, if the Guild Exchange on Medium Sulferous Stone is 5,000 plat, you either need to swap in other items "worth" 5000 plat to get one OR put 5000 plat in the guild bank. Need 5000 plat? Sell a stone to the bank. Or, if you don't care about getting something back but just want to offload some ing that won't sell for much, throw them in and let people buy them and support the guild while they're doing it.

It'd be a good system for people to contribute to the guild without ending up where some people are always getting stuff and never contributing anything.

With that in place, you could implement some interesting ideas like "guild lotteries" where people can win stuff out of the guild treasury or guild PvP matches where the winner gets some stuff out of the guild treasury. With a centralized treasury for that sort of thing it'd be a lot easier to organize and manage and thus do things with it.
